Set Ibike calibration with DFPM
Is there a simple guide somewhere that explains how to calibrate the Ibike via a DFPM? I have read the pairing notes and I *think* that if one undertakes a pairing and then does the calibration 4 mile ride, downloads this and then creates a profile for the ibike via the software that the profile wit...

Profile on 2 bikes?
Hi, For one reason and another I have two BMC pro machines. I have been using my ibike3 on one of them with a profile i am happy with which Boyd helped me tweak. On the second BMC it is an identical set up and riding position with the exception that it has dura ace 7900 rather than 7800, the main di...

Likewise - I am no fan of Apple and would not expect to ever purchase Iphone/Ipod.
I can see how for those who use Apple products they might find the IDash exciting, but what about us Apple Haters?

Re: Editing Profiles for Dummies
Really looking forward to this one, as someone who has had to enlist the help of Boyd whenever I move the unit to another bike, I really hope that I can become dself sufficient here, I have never really been able to get 'sensible' profiles just from the calibration process, despite numerous efforts ...

Re: New message when uploading - "Did the rider draft?"
I agree Boyd, did my first road race of the season on Saturday (a 7 mile lap) and the software inserted the laps at the top of the finishing climb, average power, speed etc for each of the laps. Made it kind of easy to look at these and recall "oh yes, it was the third lap when the hammer went ...

Re: Does this look right.
Location is not significant in and of itself. As long as you can see it without having to strain and you have a good profile, there's no reason to move it. As you move it forward your wind scaling will change so a new cal ride will be necessary if you decide to make a change. thanks Fern. I'll leav...

Re: Does this look right.
Mine is currently about half an inch further back than that picture.
1) is this significant
2) If I move it forward am I going to have to go through the whole set up process for profile again?

Re: RWS on TT bike
Thanks - I'll see if I can see it. I have found the pdf for rws install which suggests the tube can be cut down quite a lot. My only other doubt is that is has taken me a good amount of tweaking with Boyds help to get a good profile on my road bike and I fear that I won't get a comparable profile on...

RWS on TT bike
I currently use my Gen3 on my road bike for training and racing. I am taking my TT'ing a little more seriously this year and was considering putting the gen3 on the TT bike with the RWS. However, I am not overly keen on 24 inches of tubing catching the wind. I'd mount it on the stem, so right betwee...

Calibration with a DFPM
One of the ongoing issues I have had is getting meaning ful profiles set up. I have had an ibike for 3 years and currently on GenIII. I have followed the set up and calibration process to the letter, doing more coast downs and calibration rides than you can shake a stick at. I always need the tweaki...

iBike skipped the show floor for a private suite, where you had to sign a non disclosure agreement to see their newest innovation. It's due out in March 2010, and it has the potential to be a real game changer.

I took the battery out again, left the strap and battery on the table for an hour, put the battery back in, put HR strap on, walked to bike, pressed centre button and it paired again immediatley.
How odd.

HR Pairing - New problem
On Friday I noticed that my HR was reading very high e.g 235 beats per minute, it would record silly numbers then settle then post silly numbers again. So today I cleaned all the contacts down as they were a bit grubby and thought the problem might be the battery so I put in a battery that I tested ...

Re: Gen 1 unit
Wellmt - definatley as posted, i haven't missed a zero after the decimal point. I think it must be because of that big 0.8% riding tilt figure. Every time i have done the calibration process whether months back on Gen 1 or recently on gen3 I never end up with a CRR within the 'norm' range. I use a w...

Gen 1 unit
My Gen 3 is back with Velocomp for repair as it suffered from the cracked gasket issue a few others have noticed presumably with the tight fit on the USB mount. So I intend to use my old Gen 1 unit (rel 1.18) on my wireless mounts. I have imported my Gen 3 profile (fric and aero etc) - so this shoul...

My experience is a trip reset sees the 5 minute start up begin again, a lap reset does not, so if you warm up prior to a race, then hit lap reset for the race itself then first 5 mins of the race lap are ok.

Try doing a hard reset of the unit. Take out the battery and flip it backwards for two seconds then put it back in normal. Let me know if this fixes the problem. Hi Boyd...thanks for the tips thus far. Downloaded the updated software and transferred the profile to the unit Did the hard start. What ...

Re: Tilt Function Is Going Nuts
I posted the exact same problem a few days ago (see thread on weird slope readings) - what you described is exactly what happened to me.
I tried a hard reset as prescribed by Boyd and behaviour has returned to normal at the moment.
Seems strange that the same thing has struck twice in the last week.

Re: Calibration Tweaking - or -
this is an excellent post. I have been backwards and forwards with Boyd a good few times as i seem unable to get a consistent profile, and seem to get some fairly odd results. Boyd does, as described some tweaking and the numbers look good. However., if I change wheels and go and do the coast downs ...
