Yep, I noticed that too, today. Thought it had reset or something until I look at it from another angle. Not a prob as long as I remember it's not broken.

I get the same message when loading profiles and intervals. No probs though. I see it as an indication that isaac is talking with Newton.

+1, actually get rid of HR and replace it with CAD would be my preference.
+1, I don't use HR during intervals. prefer CAD.

Charging Newton+

Is it ok to charge the iBike with the iPhone charger adaptor and in the car etc? Now that we have the USB cable I would assume it is.

Re: Calculate FTP from shorter time trial

One method is to load all power data into a program and check the power distribution chart. Time up the side v power on the bottom. Use bin size of 5 or 10 w. See if you can find a distinct drop in power after the bell curve starts it's way down. See Allen and Coggan, Training and racing with a powe...

Re: Where to get latest version of iBike Software

Is anyone having issues downloading the software, 5.1.1? For some reason when I try and download this update it is extremely slow. I am talking about slower than dial-up speed. Is there something restricting the download to Australia or have the servers gone down over the weekend?

Re: Choosing an indoor trainer

Yep everything I've read about Kurt is great but is a much pricier option here in NZ Try the web. I bought a road machine and wheelset for less I would pay in Aus for a road machine alone. The shop I bough mine no longer supplies kk's. You could try http://www.excelsports.com/main.asp?page=1 Postag...

Re: Choosing an indoor trainer

Hi Gerrard,
My friends and team mates swear by the Kurt Kinetic Road Machine for indoor workouts, heck, I even use it in the back yard on a cold day when I am time fatigued.
It has a profile in the trainer list.
Good luck in your search.

I think I have read somewhere that is is suggested that you put on of the sensor batteries in the head unit and the new battery in the sensor units. I can't remember the exact details. I suppose it is like rotating wheels on a car.

Re: iBike Died After Riding in Rain

Try drying the iBike in a sealed ziplock bag with some silica gel, the little sachets you get with shoes etc. That should remove all moisture. Once done you may need to try and seal around the edge of the screen so water doesn't get in through there again.
Rice also works, just takes a little longer.

I have just spent 7 days in Bright, Australia, riding Mt Hotham (x3) and Mt Buffalo (x1) and various other hills and routes. My friend had a Garmin 705 paired to a PT. The iBike worked amazingly well and the difference between the iBike and PT/Garmin units was small. The difference in wattage was al...

I have just changed my battery which had just dropped down to 256. My files have been fine so far so you can probably discount battery level for the discrepency and blame the water.

Hi Chris, I had no speed/cadence happen to me last week. I noticed it a few meters up the road so stopped. I fixed it by stopping the bike taking the ibike off the mount, spinning the wheel and crank to make sure the sensors were activated and then put the ibike back on. For me this worked. The disp...

Re: Longer term drift?

Are the watts increasing as the weather warms up? You may find that the different seasons/times of the year affect aero.
Warmer weather reduces friction through the air. Hence the reason why some people warm the air in velodromes when trying to ride fast times to get selected for National teams.

I like this feature. I like being able to ride to work, hang up the bike for the day then come out and start riding with the trip reset. I do believe you are able to merge two files in iB3, is that correct? I would like to see a more comprehensive manual on how to maximise the iBike's features and h...
