Re: PowerPod v3 flashing red/green - not recording any rides anymore

I'm sorry you have had difficulties. Please press-hold the button for 12 seconds. It will start flashing after 4 seconds; continue to hold it, until the light goes out temporarily, then starts flashing again. Release the button. This does a hard reset of the device. Try another cal ride after the ha...

Re: Profile 4 Test Anomaly

Further to this, a couple more questions regarding Isaac: 1) In the interest of accuracy, I've been weighing myself with my gear before my test rides - if my aeropod has been calibrated well and I simply want to change my weight, and/or adjust tire pressure, would it just be a matter of clicking "d...

Thanks for that info! So I've got a number of what if questions that I've come up with over the last few days of tests... 1) Am I correct to assume that the out-and-back part of the calibration ride is to set the wind sensor and tilt sensor? 2) With the wind sensor setting in mind, if I'm doing my ...

I don't check the forums often, but just found this thread after Isaac crashed on loading. Bummer. I just got my PowerPod back from service. Will I be able to transfer my profiles from the Powerhouse App? If not, I'm not sure how to proceed. The route I am taking is to use Parallels VM and Isaac Wi...

[Sorry, but your post has absolutely no clues. I don't know what you are reporting as an issue; I don't know why you have attached these ride files; I don't know what to inspect. No; however, once the cal ride is complete you can copy over the factors from your old cal ride, so that you will have continuity of profiles.

Re: PoerPod v3 starts flashing red/green after 5 mins-

The problem is that your PP changed angle significantly after your calibration ride. PP is trying to auto correct, but the correction angle is too much. This is what is causing your strange watts readings. You should do a new sensor pairing, which will force a calibration ride. After the calibration...

If you look at your two ride files, you'll see that the wind calibration is different from each. On your 6/9 ride you have a net headwind of 1.6mph during your tests (on closed loops it should be zero). Screen Shot 2021-06-13 at 10.28.30 AM.png On your 6/5 ride you have a net headwind of 0.1mph (thi...

Re: Update FTP After Ride

I don't think we say, anywhere, that you should update FTP after a ride. The only reason to update FTP would be: 1) Your PP was incorrectly calibrated at the time of the FTP test; you've corrected the calibration and so FTP needs to be corrected 2) You did a new fitness test, the result of getting s...

Re: Worth upgrading to v4?

V4 upgrade gives you access to our AeroPod-based design, including pitot tube, and also latest firmware improvements. You'll also get a new warranty on the V4 unit.

Performance is somewhat better in crosswinds, but otherwise accuracy is comparable.

Also, one additional question, where did you grab those Lap CdA values from? I'm trying to compare them to the HR data channels, but I can't seem to figure out the conversion. Wasn't it HR * 4 / 1000, or has that changed with the new firmware? In profile 4 you get the most accurate CdA measurements...

Re: Profile 4 Test Anomaly

On lap 4 there was a big change in your tilt calibration. Why this happened I do not know, but it is the cause of your low CdA registered during lap 4. At the end of the lap the "error" was detected and corrected, and your on-screen CdA was corrected to 0.222--very close to your other laps. Lap 1 .2...

Re: race number and powerpod

Unfortunately your wind port was blocked; there is no wind data to correct. If you have a pitot tube, a simple thing you can do is connect it to a flexible plastic tube. You can snake the tube around to a location where there is a clear view of the wind. I do this with one of my AeroPods, which I mo...

Re: Calibration on Two Bikes

Your road bike has an excessively high Car--it should be around 0.0054. This will result in lower watts. However, your ride file shows that your mounting angle has changed significantly since calibration. The PP figures out this change, but when you try to use Check Calibration to fix things, some o...

A simple trick to use is to change Fric by .001. This will have zero effect on results, but will allow you to copy the profile, because it is no longer perfectly identical to the original one.

Re: DCRR (Dynamic Coefficient of Rolling Resistance) - PowerPod Lite V3 - Gravel / Mixed surface riding questions - New

Lots of questions! 1) DCRR is a standard feature in all units, including PPL. It responds within 5 seconds to measurable differences of road roughness. 2) DCRR does a good job of responding to large changes in rolling resistance, such as those found when going from smooth asphalt to chip seal. 3) As...
