Re: PP Mount between clip on aero bars

You're OK to attach with Garmin/GoPro mount as you suggest. There will be no degradation of performance, as long as your front mount is made from machined aluminum.

I think you won't be adversely affected by aero bars.

Re: PPv3 Lite unable to pair

After having contact with each the reseller. I have reset the speed sensor and replaced the battery (although it was giving a speed indication, probably the power was too low for pairing). I have restarted the pairing successfully. And looking forward for some nice rides with the power meter. Regar...

Re: must be doing sth wrong... no love with calib procedure

SRM uses a very different, completely unique, and totally archaic way of calibration, called "crank-torque-frequency". What makes it so bizarre is that the calibration correction is not applied to the power signal transmitted by the SRM sensor; the correction is applied to the bike computer receivin...

Re: Calculate smooth vs rough surface distribution

That is exactly what I'm hinting at John. The feature I'm thinking of would use the data from the DCRR to calculate the split between smooth and rough surface. When I get home from a gravel ride I would like to know how many km I rode on paved roads and how many on non-paved. If the road roughness ...

Re: Calculate smooth vs rough surface distribution

The other day when I was riding my gravel bike on a combined asphalt and gravel route I got thinking if it in a future software update would be possible to have PowerPod/Isaac calculate and show the approx. distribution of smooth vs rough surface. If you combined rides it is always difficult to gue...

Re: Did high humidity temporarily kill my PP?

The DuoTrap sensor is really marginal; its signal is not very strong.

If you continue to see this problem you should get the Garmin magnet less sensors.

Re: PPv3 Lite unable to pair

Please do the following: 1) Hard reset your PP, by press-holding its button for about 12 seconds. It will flash, then its light will go out, then start flashing again. Release the button. 2) Click PP button 5 times to turn it off 3) Awaken your speed and cadence sensors. The crank cadence sensor som...

Re: Did high humidity temporarily kill my PP?

This is very odd indeed. I doubt this is a problem with your bike computer. One of two things is going on: 1) Your PP has a low battery 2) Your speed sensor is operating intermittently You have a combined speed/cadence sensor on your bike. Is it a Garmin GSC-10? These sensors can be problematic. Mak...

Re: must be doing sth wrong... no love with calib procedure

John - it's a SRM (wireless); was activated and calibrated before I started the procedure of paring sensors with AP. I have the auto-calib function set on for SRM - maybe that is a problem? I was recording the whole ride on another device (Garmin Fenix) - attached is the file - and there are no pow...

Re: Calibration check, please

Press-hold PP button for about 12 seconds to hard reset it. Light will go out temporarily then turn back on. Release the button. Hopefully that will fix things. After hard reset try downloading your ride again. Your latest ride might have an incorrect date on it.

What kind of sensor do you have? Who makes it? Are they separate speed and cadence sensors, or is it a combined speed/cadence sensor? Are there magnets used with them?

Re: PPv3 MTB Bike Setup

Both files are fine.

Your TT ride file was at a lower bike speed, and your CdA is much lower. This is why your watts are lower.

Your MTB ride was at a higher bike speed with a higher CdA. This is why your watts are higher.

I have never tried it because I was waiting the right combination of led lights; also power data field continued to increase instead of stopping at 50... Re: must be doing sth wrong... no love with calib procedure

The power numbers you see on your Garmin are the DFPM numbers. So, it's your DFPM that is incorrectly reporting 600W!! This is confirmed in the ride file. What kind of DFPM are you using? In your ride file, at the 7:51 mark, you stop pedaling briefly, then resume. When you resume pedaling your DFPM ...

Re: Did high humidity temporarily kill my PP?

Hmm...the ride file looks perfect, and there is no blockage of the wind sensor. There is nothing to suggest there was any water/humidity problem with your PP.

If you saw condensation on your Garmin screen then the problem might be with the Garmin.

I think the multiple files are artifacts of the incorrect profile information used when the files were recorded with FW 714.

I suggest you erase your ride memory. This problem should disappear, too.

Re: Better / best /profile, O&B and HRM

Calibration is a one-time procedure. You don't need to do a calibration prior to every ride. Ray's PowerPod review is about 5 years old now. A lot has happened in the past 5 years...including the creation of a much shorter O&B ride (about 3 minutes each way). Calibrated power numbers are what are se...
