Re: Help with data transfer to Cycling Peaks

Hmmm...I'm only using build 96 of WKO+ and I've had no problem just "dragging and dropping" either Gen II or Gen III iAero files into it and having all the data show up (with no file manipulations whatsoever required)... Now then, being able to load and synch a Garmin .tcx file (CinQo pow...

Re: Help with data transfer to Cycling Peaks

I just got a email from Trainingpeaks with a new build 100 to fix the no power displaying. I followed the update link within the software update link but is still showing build 99. I guess I was early or at the wrong page?? I've tried the build 100 and it works fine. Actually, I wasn't aware that i...

Re: Typical values for iBike parameters?

Yes, I have the PT set to auto-zero and I make sure to coast do let it zero. The PT answer usually matches the expected result based on the time to ride my commute route, which I know very well by now. If it doesn't match, I can usually trace it back to forgetting to let the auto-zero happen after ...

Re: Typical values for iBike parameters?

Every day I ride with 3 iBike units, one of each generation. In fact, I still reference all of my results to the post-processed GenII unit. After post-processing, the GenII unit matches my PowerTap and Quarq data very consistently. In fact, with the weather getting colder it is looking like I can g...

Re: Trainer Accuracy

I found in the power and or trainer forums awhile back (forget which) that most trainers have such light fly wheels that there are micro accelerations during the peddle stroke that do not exist on the road. This is because on the road, the higher weight/inertia smooths out the differences in torque...

Re: Trainer Accuracy

Travis, That's cool stuff...but as a long time Polar user, I'd highly recommend removing the Polar from the list of DFPMs one can use to "calibrate" the trainer power function. Due to various reasons, Polar performance on a trainer is "hit or miss" as to the accuracy and can be ...

Re: Would change in tubes/wheels be reflected in Crr or CDA?

(Note that real world Crr values will be slightly higher in general compared to what you see in the tables in the link above because tires run cooler on the road.) I'd say on average you could add about .002 to those Crr numbers. I don't think it's the temperature (Al tries to correct for this) so ...

Re: How does drafting affect power readings?

And keep in mind that the DFPM power meters have their own issues at time scales near 1 s. For example, due to the PowerTap's 1.26 s sampling rate, there are certain cadences that make the PT power signal fluctuate more than reality. The SRM measures power per revolution, so if your cadence is not ...

Re: Quarq Cinqo & iAero Observations - Help Needed

The pCal function is for zeroing the Quarq data. Make sure you have all sensors paired and then when you get to pCal hit the bottom button. You should see the word Start. Hit the center button and you will see "Proc" (proceed). This is zeroing the signal from the Quarq and it will say don...

Re: Quarq Cinqo & iAero Observations - Help Needed

2&4 The Cinqo can be zeroed at anytime by backpedaling 8 or more revolutions. This "auto zeros" it. Also, you have to pair your devices before you try to zero. Meaning, put the iAero in the regular riding screen and hit the center button. You'll see spd found, hrt found, Pin found. Wh...

Re: How accurate is the iBike?

Thanks Boyd. That's a good summary. Do you mind if I ask what PT model you used on that ride? Based on the couple of dropouts you had there, I'm assuming it was a wireless model, correct? Also, the first anomaly you showed seems to indicate that the power reading being recorded by the iAero from the...

Re: How does iAero sample CinQo?

As I understand it, the CinQo transmits at a 4hz frequency the average of the power completed in a pedal revolution, with the data value transmitted in each "packet" updated upon the completion of each revolution. Hi Tom... so are you saying that every 1/4 sec the CinQo transmits the aver...

How does iAero sample CinQo?

I have the opportunity to "play around" with an iAero in conjunction with a CinQo for a bit and I was curious as to how the iAero stores the power samples. As I understand it, the CinQo transmits at a 4hz frequency the average of the power completed in a pedal revolution, with the data val...
