Re: not seeing DFPM power in software or Training Peaks
So I have partially figured this out in case anyone is having the same problem: In the ibike software there's a rather obvious check box on the left (above the lap window) that says "view DFPM". Feel kinda dumb for not having seen that earlier. That part of the problem is solved. The train...

not seeing DFPM power in software or Training Peaks
I have an iAero and a Powertap Pro DFPM. Since I got the powertap I've essentially been using the ibike as a head unit. ON the bike I am seeing power reported by the Powertap (as the instructions say I should). However when I bring it into the software, the "power" window has the ibike pow...

Re: Using a powertap
How do you actually get the iBike (I have an iAero) to use the Powertap speed and cadence? The iBike wireless scan only finds one thing (power). Does it automatically get the speed/cadence from the power link or should I see a separate "cad found" and "spd found" message?

Are coast downs required or not?
The last few software/firmware iterations have made the coast downs optional...right? The manual specifically says that the calibration ride is the last "mandatory" step. But even in the latest instructions (http://www.ibikesports.com/Download/iBike_Instructions_June_09_red.pdf) the sectio...

Re: Lots of tube thingee issues
I just bought an RWS (August) and I see (hope) that the problem has not been fixed yet. You guys put some little sticky snot stuff on the connector which is nice but it still doesn't hold in place. Any better fix coming? I have had to resort to all sorts of rubber band contraptions and am also very ...

If you have a DFPM, can you block the wind port?
If I have a DFPM (powertap) and an iAero can I block (or otherwise ignore/disable) the wind port? I really like knowing what part of my power goes to gravity/brakes/acceleration but I'm content to simply calculate the wind resistance from the DFPM measured power. I know that I won't be able to get w...

Unit freezes, battery must be taken out...every day
I ride twice a day and my unit freezes every time I start my second ride. I've tried several things (below) but it always happens and the only solution seems to be to take the battery out. After I put the battery back it always works like normal...until the next day. What's going on? Anybody have a ...

Definitely required.
See my other post on this same topic. The wind scaling factor on my Gen II was just about 1, the wind scaling on my Gen III was just about .5 leading to drastically different answers. Despite asking I haven't been able to get an answer whether that large difference is normal...I'd be curious to see ...

Wind Scaling factors
What is a typical value for the wind scaling factor? What would be borderline "too high" or "too low?" Is it a feature of the unit? (different sensors have different factors but the same unit should always yield similar values) Is it a feature of the setup? (different units on th...

Re: Gen III iAero doesn't match Gen II
False alarm. As it turns out it didn't get the right value from the cal ride the first time. The new numbers make a lot more sense: The Aero value from the Gen II was .338 and the wind scaling was .988 (Cda of .343) The Aero value from the Gen III was .202 and the wind scaling was .553 (Cda of .365)...

Gen III iAero doesn't match Gen II
I just got my Gen III iAero. I have two basic setups: one of me alone and one of me towing my daughter in a trailer. I had two profiles for the Gen II and I just did the calibrations for both with the Gen III. My problem is that the Gen III measures significantly lower Aero and Fric numbers. I will ...

Re: truncated ride files
I'm also experiencing this but I have another bit of info. The ride file is truncated some, but there is more data in the ride file then there is being shown in the ibike2 software. My ride file (based on past experience) should be about 11 minutes. Going by the timestamps in the csv (when you open ...

Re: Hole on the Underside of iBike
So I gotta ask ... what's the purpose of the little bump? Why not just a simple hole?
And thanks for the fast reply.

Hole on the Underside of iBike
What is the purpose of the small hole on the underside of the unit? I'm NOT talking about the large obvious port on the front. The hole is very small and on top of it (more or less) is a little bump of plastic. On my unit the little plastic bump looks mishapen (like it was melted on after the unit w...
