Re: TT Aero Figures

I'm getting some really wacko numbers for my TT bike. I have the unit mounted on topeak extender below the aero bars extended all the way down. It has clear open space to the wind. The wind scale is off the charts, crr seems low, cda seems ok. The watts are nothing compared to my road bike with the ...

Re: How to add new wireless IDs to old profiles

I'm still having the same problem myself. I don't have a DFPM and I did save the ID's to see what happen's and just comes up with a DFPM menu to choose one. Everytime I change my profile for another bike it does the same thing over and over. When I do save the ID's an change over to another bike wit...

Re: The calibration ride (GenIII units)

OK, basically what I did was change the wind scaling so that you had a 0mph average ground wind speed for the entire ride. This gave you a wind scaling of 1.114, and I kept the cda the same by changing the aero number. The watts and wind look pretty good. I'll be interested to see what you wind sca...

Re: The calibration ride (GenIII units)

Do you have the ride file from today? I can check out a couple things. If you have your set cda and crr for your fixed gear then you should JUST need to do the out and back ride. This will give you a new wind scaling number which is really the most important number in the whole iBike. It's what giv...

Re: The calibration ride (GenIII units)

I decided to use my Gen III unit today on my fix gear. I had been using the my old Gen II unit and getting what I thought were good/accurate numbers for fix gear riding. Today the Gen III was way to high for my 3.25 hr. fix gear ride at 308 watts average. I'd be cooked if I really could hold that fo...

Re: Wireless ID Message

This means you really do have a new wireless id, somehow. My workaround is to click cancel message warning. On the main screen, I click on edit profiles, select the profile in question and click on Advanced Profile settings. With the iBike attached I click on the button "Get from iBike" n...

Re: New Features in firmware 3.08

Monday or Tuesday is the target for the FW release; units will start shipping Wednesday or Thursday. We have a big backlog so it's not clear that we will be able to get everything out in one day. iBike 3 doesn't (yet) show TSS IF NP, but the numbers on your iBike screen will match those computed by...

Re: How to add new wireless IDs to old profiles

Reading these instructions (I just posted in Gen III troubleshooting forum) and did say yes to finding the newer ID's for all three of my profiles on 3 different bikes. They all have a separate Garmin speed/cad. sensor on each but when I change profiles it goes through the same process over and DFPM...

Wireless ID Message

Hi, I keep getting a wireless ID message saying it finds new ID's when I'm downloading data. I have the correct profile loaded and even checked the profiles to see if the numbers are different between the 3 bike profiles I have (wireless ID's). They are all different so I don't know what the message...

Re: moving Gen I and Gen II iBike profiles to Gen III

What you could do is check the profile information for the ride you did after the 4 mile ride. Have that part of the ride open and then right click on the part that says "Profile attached" and look at the info. You can also go into "edit profiles" and then hit "extract"...

Re: moving Gen I and Gen II iBike profiles to Gen III

We've had a bunch of questions about moving profiles to the Gen III units. If you have a Gen II iBike the process is very simple: transfer your profile to your new Gen III, then just do a Calibration Ride (4 miles total, out-and-back). That's all you'll need to do! I finally had a chance to do my C...

Re: Trainer Values & Fitness Test

Yes, this is what I did by adjusting the power to speed so the average speed will equal my road power levels.... Seems to work for me. I assume you selected your particular trainer, then switched to the "Coefficients" tab. But which value(s) did you change to get a number you were comfort...

Re: Trainer Values & Fitness Test

Here's the question that comes to me given all of this: If one knows their road FTP is x (say 280) and they do an all out trainer test that gives them a FTP (based on KK graphs or iBike forumlas) that is lower than their FTP, should they adjust the power to speed formula so the average speed of the...

Re: Trainer Values & Fitness Test

I have a Cycleops Mag Trainer and I've got mine dialed in pretty close to my "FLAT" speed effort on the road. With the graph/speed adjustment with IBike 3, I adjusted my trainer profile to match my HR I would do at a normal effort not windy outdoors. I know HR vs. Wattage is not the way to...

Re: Trainer Recommendation

Fernando, I have always like Cycleops trainers. The fluid ones are quiet to me and resistence will get harder with your output. The Mag units are nice also and have a dial in knob for adjustment of effort and are a bit louder. Customers service is good with Cycleops for warranty, especially on leaky...

Is it the norm to send in your serial to get the unlock key/file to get your Garmin to pair with the Gen III unit. I had the "G" firmware with my Gen II unit and was wondering. Nothing will pair for me.....

Re: "Auto Analyze" distorts? Slope and power numbers inaccurate?

At least check the tilt cal. If you have the same two spots on your floor, you will learn what the slope should be in each direction after you do the tilt cal. Check the next day and see if it is the same as yesterday. If it is usually the same slope day-to-day, you can take your chances and skip i...

Re: "Auto Analyze" distorts? Slope and power numbers inaccurate?

I'm a little behind due to some beta testing, but send me a file and I'll have a look. ALWAYS send me a file, and ALWAYS export your Profile that was used so that I can see that as well. Finally, everyone, remember the mantra: 1) Leave it outside for 15 minutes while you do your other pre-ride stuf...

If you get WLS FAIL just press the center button once. That will get you back to regular screens. Don't hit the center button again if you can help it otherwise it will look for the wireless signals and you'll be back where you started. Yeah was doing that but it stayed on that fail screen acting i...

Re: Variables For Setup iBike Aero

Make sure to perform the wind offset calibration prior to your ride, after letting your iBike adjust to outdoor temperature. Also, if you did your coast down calibrations prior to performing the wind offset that could be a problem too. If neither of these work then please send me a ride file at jha...
