Re: A frustrating day at the velodrome
You can do a cal ride anywhere you want; doing one at a velodrome seems (at least to me) to be a poor use of velodrome location :D There is no additional benefit from doing a cal ride at the Velodrome. The Ed Rudolph Velodrome (in Northbrook, IL) is free to use and generally open to the public. Jus...

Re: A frustrating day at the velodrome
How would one select "best" calibration for the wrong profile? The Velocomp Aero PC app displays four profiles. The"Device Setup" wizard will allow "Better" and "Best" calibration modes for each of the profiles. I have "Better" selected for profiles ...

A frustrating day at the velodrome
I went to the velodrome today to play with the Aeropod and test some equipment. Firmware updated, running the latest app on my PC. Got it all setup last night with the different profiles and selected the BEST accuracy mode profile on the unit. Verified that I was getting the alternating red/green fl...

Re: New AeroPod 2.0 CdA app for ConnectIQ Garmin computers
We don't have control of the Garmin UX, so we can't add any of the indicators you are suggesting. You have limited control over what is displayed on the sensor details page. Looking at the different settings available b/w different PM OEMs, this is readily apparent. For e.g., we can see that Assiom...

Re: New AeroPod 2.0 CdA app for ConnectIQ Garmin computers
Same for my Edge 830. In case you do not know: from the Garmin manuals. ... Tom Thanks Tom, I am aware of this feature on Garmin head units. This would provide another path to providing the enhanced UX feature. Maybe it could be modeled after the pattern Shimano uses for Di2 di2status.png This is w...

Re: New AeroPod 2.0 CdA app for ConnectIQ Garmin computers
Sorry, I should have been more clear around what I meant by status, which includes the connected sensors, but also all of the other potential status options noted in the manual. aeropodstatus.png Right now I carry a printout of the PDF with me, and use it like a decoder ring to try to suss out what ...

Re: New AeroPod 2.0 CdA app for ConnectIQ Garmin computers
Would it be possible to have the new app provide status information for the connected sensors? I find that LED can be hard to see in some situations. Any chance you've been able to have a look at this? It would greatly improve the usability of the device if the status was available somewhere easy t...

Re: new Trek Speed Concept Blendr Duo Base and Computer Mount and Device Mount Location
I am not sure that the AeroPod or PowerPod are that useful when on a trainer. The inertial sensitivity is compromised by the lock down of the bike, so I suspect that almost all power to the drivetrain will not be detected. What wind resistance could possibly be converted to any impact on power? The...

Re: new Trek Speed Concept Blendr Duo Base and Computer Mount and Device Mount Location
There is no way to measure aero bar flex, because there is no way to know how much pressure you are applying to the bars, no way to know how bumps/perturbations in the road are giggling you and the bike and the aero bars up and down, and no way to know how stiff your bars are. What if they put the ...

Re: new Trek Speed Concept Blendr Duo Base and Computer Mount and Device Mount Location
Here is a video we made four years ago, showing precisely why AP should not be mounted to aero bars: https://youtu.be/ZjcVGtdjqDk If you believe the aero bar flex problem is theoretical, please watch the video a few times. Sorry, I don't think I ever implied, stated, or said anything that would sug...

Re: new Trek Speed Concept Blendr Duo Base and Computer Mount and Device Mount Location
The under-bar mount we recommend is very small, and I find it difficult to believe it will measurably affect your overall aero efficiency. It's hard to see how adding a GoPro helmet mount to the bottom of the basebar wouldn't cause air to detach, or at least not flow the way Trek intended. In eithe...

Re: new Trek Speed Concept Blendr Duo Base and Computer Mount and Device Mount Location
Thanks. Conceptually there will be some flex in a standard road bike bar/stem, just as there is some flex in the base and bars on a TT bike. Both configurations put rider weight on the bars through a lever. There are a lot of factors that will determine how much the bar/stem of either bike will flex...

Re: new Trek Speed Concept Blendr Duo Base and Computer Mount and Device Mount Location
Is there a way to tell if the level of vibration is problematic? I have been using a very similar setup (one one short metal extension from the Bontrager mount instead of two) on my Speed Concept. The bar setup on the new Speed Concept is very rigid. Nothing is moving as far as I can tell. I would p...
