Re: AeroPod CdA Connect IQ app for Garmin

Do the draft/beta proposals for an ANT CdA profile include non wind speed and aero drag measurements? Are any other AeroPod relevant profiles being proposed for addition to the standard (e.g. altimeter or accelerometer)? I'm thinking about measurements like altitude, barometric pressure, slope/grade...

Re: CSV wrt IBR format

I respect Velocomp's right to control their IP as they see fit, and I am willing to sign an NDA. However before putting you through that trouble, I think I should get as far as I can working with what is available in the CSV files Issac currently exports. Then if my results are promising and pursuin...

While we are at it, probably should be including both pressure sensors (i.e. wind/dynamic and barometric/static).

CSV wrt IBR format

It looks like exporting AeroPod ride data from Issac in CSV format produces 1Hz data, and that data does not include accelerometer data. I gather the IBR format files Issac downloads from AeroPod include 16Hz accelerometer data (if powerstroke is on). Is there some way to export the accelerometer da...

I am trying to do some roll down testing using a hill. I tried setting high values for Crr and CdA, and used the repair for missing cadence tool to try and get "power" while coasting. I get a few single sample spikes in the "power" and sections of the coast where the "power&...

I recently installed Isaac 5.1 on my mac laptop, and found that the recommended procedure would not work for my situation. I was only able to install the required "drivers" by using a work around that involves terminal commands and booting in recovery mode. I am posting this information he...

I don't thin the AP garmin IQ app/data field is in the garmin store yet. You need to grab the *.zip file (and the instruction pdf) from the first post in this thread.

AeroPod gradient measurement

The garmin IQ data field for AeroPod shows gradient to 0.1 %. How is this measured? Is it a direct measure of the inclination of gravity with respect to the AeroPod? Is it derived from the velocity (from the paired wheel sensor) and changes in the barometer reading? Is it some sort of filtered combi...

I am beginning to...

sensor pairing cal ride clarification request

After pairing sensors to the AeroPod, does one start the out and back cal ride immediately or does one ride to where one intends to do the out and back ride and hit the AeroPod button to start the cal ride process? I think I have experienced both behaviors from my AeroPod.

cal ride not per instructions

I tried to / did a cal ride with my AeroPod today. When doing an out and back cal ride, I expect the power field on my garmin 820 display to count up from 0 to 50, then hold till I stop and turn around, then count up from 50 to 100. When I did the cal ride the power display counted up from 0 to 100,...

Re: What is displayed in the Wind Speed field of the exported CSV files?

Yep, one thing I've found during a career in engineering is that clear unambiguous terminology that rarely confuses can be surprisingly hard to come by. I agree that the terminology you use in the Issac software is very descriptive and clear, and I applaud your choice to stick with it.

Re: What is displayed in the Wind Speed field of the exported CSV files?

In sailing (where wind is very important) the accepted and long standing terminology is: "apparent wind" is what an observer on a moving platform experiences. "true wind" is what a stationary observer experiences (i.e. wind with respect to the ground) So "apparent wind"...

Re: AeroPod/PowerPod Status Light Table

I think it would be good to add this status light table document to the "comprehensive instructions for AeroPod" post.
Also, will this be unchanged with firmware update 7.06 or is there a status light indication for the new 5 min calibration period at start of ride when using profile 4?
