Pairing with DFPM

Hi John,

Do I have to purchase a separate key to connect the PowerPod to a DFPM? I am trying to pair it but not sure if it is getting connected.

Re: too much head wind?

Hey John, Here is another ride i recently done over this past weekend. I have not done an O&B ride and still used my original calibration and it seems everything is fine. I am uploading this in hopes you guys may fix the anomaly ride I had that started this thread. BTW, Is there an instruction s...

Re: too much head wind?

If you really want to dial-in your PP I suggest you do an out-and-back calibration ride. I already did that on a good, non windy day. In fact, this ride file (windy file) i am questioning is based off of that calibration ride file that you said yourself on a previous post was perfect! I will attach...

Re: too much head wind?

Thanks for that John but can you please tell me the reason on why i should have another profile? You said my profile before on my original calibration run was perfect but because of this one instance i need a new a new profile? Just trying to make sense out of this if everytime something went whack ...

Re: too much head wind?

ok thanks.

One other thing since it may not be this windy when i ride next time, is it correct that i don't have to update the calibration ride file that I use?

Re: too much head wind?

Its actually attached on my very first post but i will attach it again. I also attached the segment i am comparing with the raw file if i plugged the data directly in the bike calculator website, the power it calculates is within the ballpark except without no headwind. Conversely the power if I app...

Re: too much head wind?

do you have any thoughts about the file with tons of headwind? it is using the same calibration ride file base. interestingly enough i was playing with the data and plugging it in the bike calc website and the average speed on some of the segments are matching the power i need to produce required to...

Re: too much head wind?

Here is another ride just for comparison based on the same calibration ride with weight and aero wheels (cda) adjusted.
The wind here looks more normal.

too much head wind?

I rode yesterday on rather windy conditions and after looking at my ride in Isaac I noticed tons of headwind. I did the check calibration tool and Isaac changed my power significantly lower. I do not mind it being lower but I am concerned now on how accurate the values I see on my powerpod each time...

Re: Elite Qubo Digital Interactive/Smart B+

Come to think of it while testing another a trainer profile. I do not think PowerPod will work on a smart trainer is that correct because it cannot measure the resistance.
I notice this because my power is definitely not right when it the trainer is putting resistance.

Re: Elite Qubo Digital Interactive/Smart B+

I researched more and found this article helpful and the author actually mapped out the power values.

I screen shotted the map for convenience. I hope you guys can help! TY

Re: Elite Qubo Digital Interactive/Smart B+

The curve you supplied shows min and max values. Where are you actually operating the trainer? (What setting) I am using whatever the default setting is. If "where" you mean physical location, I workout in the basement with a fan so it should be cooling enough. As I read online, this trai...

Re: Elite Qubo Digital Interactive/Smart B+

Hi John, It seems like the power profile for the Qubo Fluid is much different than what i have since mine is magnetic. I tried editing another trainer that is closer to the power curve (attached image) but having a hard time since the entire curve shifts when i adjust the slider so I was wondering i...

HR Monitor with angle/position sensor?

Since the biggest limitation of the PowerPod is its inability to detect rider positions, do you think it is possible to create a separate sensor to do just this or integrate an HR sensor that can also detect body angle? I'd buy it right away! ;) Here is one article. The sensors are large but maybe i...

Anyone know what profile I should use for my trainer: Elite Qubo Digital Interactive (Smart B+ seems to be the same version)?
It is not in the list

Re: Wind Scaling and Relocation

One little confussion when setting this up using the "Keep Accuracy of..." At the beginning of the Step I am asked to choose which of the 4 slots I can get to save the profile. I noticed that if I pick my latest calibration (option 3 at moment) vs using the "unsaved" slot that th...

Re: Wind Scaling and Relocation

Another question about recablibration. I seem to be lossing weight like crazy so do I have to do O&B ride every time i lose some weight or can I just just change the weight on the basics tab?
Will doing this recalculate my number on the advance tab?

Re: Wind Scaling and Relocation

Sorry for the late reply. Weather was bad. Regardless I just did a new O&B calibration (O&B 3 file) on the same road with slightly less weight. Changes are: I lost 3 lbs somehow and lowered the handle bars by 1 spacer (10cm) and using the Powerpod front mount (before I was using the garmin f...

Wind Scaling and Relocation

Hi, New PowerPod user! I love the product so far BTW. I have 2 questions though that hopefully someone can clarify: 1. I was using the existing Garmin Edge front mount and switched to the PowerPod front mount since its more sturdy albeit a little heavier so do I need a new O&B calibration? 2. I ...
