Re: Relay / Re broadcast of sensors
hoosier1981 you mention Garmin and unless I'm very much mistaken all Garmin head unit use ANT+ not BLE. The difference between ANT and BLE is that ANT+ supports one to many pairings and BLE doesn't. This means that you can pair your ANT+ head unit to the ANT speed and cadence sensors directly at th...

Battery Storage
If my bike stays in the garage (which doesn't typically go below freezing) - would it be best to leave the PP on the bike, vs take it off and store it in the house with the rest of my bike electronics? I mainly ask this regarding affect on the battery life. I've never had this particular PP go 'dead...

Re: Anyone using PowerPod on a Fat Bike with any success?
hoosier1981 -- I also have Bud/Lou 4.8 tires installed on my winter fatbike and have been using CRR=0.0211. I'm still evaluating the use of this value now that the bug in the Newton firmware for my unit was fixed, years after I pointed out the bug, and months after the promised delivery of the fix....

Re: Relay / Re broadcast of sensors
Thanks for confirming. There must be a limitation in the way the Garmin is picking the signal up.

Re: Relay / Re broadcast of sensors
*Update* So I came to realize my cadence sensor battery was low. I got everything working again - Garmin ANT+ Speed, and cadence (separate sensors) - non magnetic. The PowerPod does pick up both sensors. However it *only* broadcasts Power and Cadence (through both BLE or ANT+). I can't get it to bro...

Re: Relay / Re broadcast of sensors
How do you get the PP to broadcast speed and cadence? I can only get it to transmit power (even tho it does pick up the speed / cadence) - it just doesn't re-broadcast it. The documentation doesn't mention any special settings that I can find. If I go to 'Edit Profiles' > 'Wireless IDs' I see some n...

Re: Anyone using PowerPod on a Fat Bike with any success?
Hi all - I was going to take the fat bike out this weekend and give the PP a shot. I currently use PowerPod on my road / cx bikes. However - this just leaves my fat bike to set up (I've never tried it yet). I got a new Bluto fork with lockout, so calibration should be easy. I realize CRR value doesn...

Pair with DFPM
I see in Isaac there is an option to pair a Direct force power meter. I was just curious what purpose(s) this will serve specifically with the PowerPod? (I know some Isaac features were only for older models). For example, is it only for extra paid features, like wind tunnel (which I assume isn't in...

Re: Working through an imbalance
Thanks - I was wondering if there is any thought in having a L/R balance type data transmit via ANT+ , for instance to a Garmin head unit to view in real time?

Working through an imbalance
Hi - I'm working through some hip & back issues (not riding hard at the moment). In the near future (once the weather clears up) I will be using the Powerstroke to view my balance, as I have it unlocked. I did just pick up a higher end trainer with software that shows this same type of "pea...

MTB mounting
Just planning ahead as I've only been able to use on the roadbike due to injuries and muddy trails. I'd like to plan for how to mount on my mountain bikes (hard tail and full suspension). I've enjoyed the PP on my road / gravel bikes but would like to use it on single track, at least for extended cl...

Re: Multiple bikes, single sensor
Hi John, Regarding the Wahoo sensors - I'm running Garmin speed sensors, as you mention those will provide more accurate readings. 1. Does it matter if I use a Wahoo vs Garmin cadence sensor for RPM? I prefer the wahoo as it can mount to a shoe strap (thus I don't have to pair 4 of them) - It can st...

Relay / Re broadcast of sensors
I read the Supplement for BLE/ANT+ PowerPod and noticed this section: "PowerPod BLE receives speed/cadence data in ANT+ format, and transmits power, speed, and cadence data simultaneously in ANT+ and BLE formats." 1. Can the PP also receive ANT+ Heart rate, and if so, 2. Will it transmit H...

Re: Coastdown for crr
WOW, that's interesting. I think I'm comfortable enough with the default numbers recommended for my road bike. But I might try this for my 5" snow tires with 7mm lugs, haha. And my 2.8" aggressive tires... I see pretty crazy numbers for some of these fat tires...for instance: https://www.b...

Re: Multiple bikes, single sensor
**EDIT**
Removed original post as I was inquiring on how much the wahoo drops out. After reading all the other posts I think Garmin sensors would be the way to go and if necessary, use an ANT+ USB stick to connect them to Laptops / Androids.

Multiple bikes, single sensor
Is it possible to use the Powerpod with multiple bikes, using one set of Wahoo speed and Wahoo Cadence magnetless sensors? Assuming it's hooked to a PC to load the profile for the correct bike, with only one profile on the device at a time? (As to not confuse the PP by having multiple bike profiles ...

Coastdown for crr
Would it be possible to use a coastdown to calculate crr for those of us with a wide variety of tires? I've seen something similar to this on Kurt Kinetic fluid trainers with their 'inRide' power meter. Without calibration it's 'close' within 20-40 watts but then hits within a few watts after using ...

Re: Manual / Auto re-calibration
Thanks! I'll give that a try when I have time and might use the short calibration for now. Regarding the beginning of each ride, would it be recommended to ride the mountain bike on flat ground or pavement if possible for the first 5 minutes of each ride? Or would there be any downsides to just star...

Manual / Auto re-calibration
I have set up the sensors for 6 bikes and got them put into Isaac. (did not calibrate after creating each sensor profile) - as this would require taking a PC with me to somewhere flat. I loaded my road bike profile up, and headed out to a flat straight away. I turned the Powerpod on and it went into...

Gap in powerpod halfs
Hi - I received my Powerpod and haven't had a chance to go out for a ride yet. When I mounted it, I noticed the bottom of the Powerpod has a gap between the two plastic halfs from the front back through the bottom of the wind sensor. Meaning, if you look into the wind sensor, you can see through the...

Hi - I just installed the Android app and received my Powerpod last night. I'm still trying to familiarize myself with everything but wanted to clarify how the app works regarding the bike profiles. Tire / Surface estimations for new user
I order my PowerPod and am excited to get started. While it is in shipping, are there any good sources out there to get started with resistance numbers for: 1. A wide variety of tires -23c thru 4.8" with 7mm knobs (I'd think with the knobs, this is more than just calculating width). Maybe there...

That's awesome to hear that profiles can be updated wirelessly. I just put in an order at CleverTraining for the bundle with Powerstroke (assuming this will have 93 in the SN#). Can't wait to get started.

Original ANT vs ANT + BLE
If I am using a Garmin and don't plan to use Bluetooth, is there any advantage in not going with the original ANT only model? I read on DCR that the new model has better road condition software, but has all of that been applied to the original now? Would the dual transmitter use more battery? Thanks

Maximum number bike profiles & tire type
Hi - I'm thinking about ordering a PowerPod. I have just two questions while I'm weighing my options. 1. Maximum number of bikes & switching them... I have 6 bikes (7 total wheelsets) - each with their own Garmin magnetless speedometer / cadence sensors. Is four still the maximum number of bikes...
