PP on Trainer- TACX VORTEX Smart on Zwift with Powermatch
Hi, I have recently bought a TACX Vortex Smart Indoor trainer for zwifting. Zwift now allows powermatch feature by which it can use power data from the powermeter rather than from trainer so that the power value will not vary greatly from outdoor and indoor rides. Is it possible to configure PP with...

Re: Autocalibration after bike fit
This was a fully drafting ride but it was a Under and Over intervals and i have clocked as close to 40kmph in the over the FTP part but still the avg power was only 109w because of which my calorie burn was too low too iBike_16_03_2017_0504_48_km_Drashkum_HiDef.ibr Does the drafting bring the power ...

Re: Autocalibration after bike fit
Hi john, I have been doing consistent rides after i did the calibration of PP with 6.21 FW. I have been constantly getting very low power numbers when compared to earlier times. I have been drafting a couple of times and a few times solo but i am not sure if everything is ok. I ride a course where t...

Re: Autocalibration after bike fit
Perfection! Thank you John. I think with this settled profile I am not going to touch or tweak the PP for long long time unless I upgrade the bike. Gonna concentrate on the training and focus on increasing the ft. I think with the FW 6.21 cal ride algorithms you guys have taken the PP to a whole ne...

Re: Autocalibration after bike fit
Have done the calride and a 12km ride after the cal ride. Info: I reset the Profile and Created a new Profile( Name:Onelasttime) and Paired my sensor. The FW is 6.21 so there were 3 red flashes and may green flashes till one final solid Green flash which confirmed my sensor pairing ( Thanks John for...

Re: Separate speed and cadence sensor pairing?
You most definitely can pair with both sensors. If you have installed FW 621, when you pair the PP will indicate pairing to your cadence sensor with 3 flashes of the red light. Then, when pairing is complete the light will show solid green. Be aware that the magnet less cadence sensor takes some ti...

Re: Autocalibration after bike fit
I would try the original PP mount. Do an out-and-back calibration and then post the .ibr file. Thank you. Regular O/B ride In the Same dialed in profile? Or on the old accurate profile which I was using with original PP mount? Or cal ride O/B in a new profile under 6.21 firmware settings with best ...

Re: Autocalibration after bike fit
image.jpeg This is the picture. I had been using this out front combi mount as i was not able to mount my garmin on to the 70mm stem. Now that stem has been changed to 100mm i can still go back to the oem mount that came with my PP. Should i do that?. I am seeing that all these problems started onl...

Re: Autocalibration after bike fit
No, it was a out and back solo ride to the same place. No group or drafting behind cyclists. May be here and there for a few seconds behind buses when they cross me. That's all. What should I do now?. Again cal ride using 6.21fw in new format?

Autocalibration after bike fit
I had a dialed in profile which i was using. I had a advanced bike fit session with Bjorn Suetens yesterday and he has raised the stem a bit higher with a small spacer and had put in a 100 mm stem and fixed the handlebar with PP. Since he did not touch the powerpod/ Handlebar and just mounted the ha...

A query
The calibration ride for highest accuracy after 6.21 firmware update has to be done after loading the already dialled in profile or on a new profile?

I've looked at your latest ride files and I really can't find anything obviously wrong with them. When you do your next ride please make it a solo ride and post it. I can't improve things if nothing is wrong... :-) I really felt that the readings were on higher side as yesterday even without much s...

yes the automatically analyze route was ticked... i unchecked and then clicked analyse -> Undo analysis -> return to original download and then saved the file. Re: Newbie to Power Can someone help me set up PP correctly
Hi, As advised by you , i did a ride today with the updated profile you had sent. It was a 38km ride out and back to same place , solo (no drafting), on hoods. It is overestimating now, I rode predominantly in zone 4 but nowhere near a ITT effort and it gave me a new FTP of 230W in 20mins and avg po...

Re: Newbie to Power Can someone help me set up PP correctly
Hi, Finally managed to get a couple of rides after the profile update you sent. I still feel the power reflected is low by 20 W avg from the previous profile which was dialed in when the PP was in handle bar mount. These are the two ride files of the solo on hood O/B rides with PP on front combi mou...

Oh...Thank you Mr.Hamann. Some intuition told me it was because of the powergrid and each time i ride that way my garmin acts weird. Thank you for the ride file. i will do a ride again after the storm ( Vardah)gets over with the new profile and post it here for one last time

Re: Newbie to Power Can someone help me set up PP correctly
Hi, Thanks for the reply. I was riding near the powergrid the other day and probably i feel the elecromagnetic interference could have messed up the garmin. I was in doubt , so i reset the whole thing and did a New cal O&B ride ( Best accuracy 2.16kms) and a 20km solo O&B ride today on the h...

Re: Newbie to Power Can someone help me set up PP correctly
Yes , I have it mounted on front wheel. I also make it a ritual that before i start my ride and before the garmin connect gps satellites i spin the wheel to see if my speed shows up on the garmin
i just now spun the wheel inside my home and it shows speed
