Re: Advice interpreting ride data

Thank you and no worries! Yes, I used the Tools/CdA analysis. I will revisit my ride file and check the position of my aeropod. I am very sorry for the confusion, the interval markers are set by Isaac. I tried to change them but failed so far. I need to get deeper into the software yet. One more que...

Re: New AeroPod firmware 7.06

Hey, I seem to have trouble with the 5 min initial section at the beginning of a new ride. My aeropod "never" (N=3 samples) gets "live" it is stuck displaying the default CdA. This requires a little context. So far, I tried three times. I never had the luck to meet all the criter...

Advice interpreting ride data

Hello, I spent today with my first try to get some CdA data for different setups. I got a few equipment item around and would like to figure out which combination is best for me on my bike. I got my road helmet, my Spiuk long tailed TT helmet, a Xlab Torpedo bottle, and a Torhans Aero 30 vertical bo...

Re: TT bike mounting

I read this that we don't have any problem with flexing of the aerobars? That would be great.

Cheers,

Re: TT bike mounting

Hey John, thank you, I got the firmware this morning and had the opportunity for a short ride this evening. Please find the ride files attached. As advised, I tried to be rather "lively" on the bike like sprints and in/out off the aero position. Near the end of the ride is also a section o...

Re: TT bike mounting

Hey John, sorry for the long delay, I was simply busy at work. Please find attached the two ibike files my aeropod produced during calibration and the requested short ride afterwards. My CdA on the basebar was about 0.19 and in the aero position 0.18. Both a little low - or I missed my profession. I...

Re: TT bike mounting

Hey, after reading the revised instructions for firmware 7.06 I think I need to check my setup since my AP is attached to my aerobars. However, it is rather close to the massive alloy sleeves connecting the extensions to the also rather massive base bar. So I hope this setup is still fine. The mount...

Re: New AeroPod firmware 7.06

Hey John, I am sorry for this slightly off topic post. I get your technical requirements. However, my home is in a neighborhood where I need to get down a steep hill taking sharp turns every beginning of a ride. What would be you recommendation for such a situation? Switch the aeropod on later in th...

PowerPod mount broke off

Hello, I guess and hope I am the only one with this problem. The go-pro style mount of my PowerPod simply broke off. Bothe of them. I have honestly no idea how this happened. Unfortunately, I got one of my A races next weekend. So I would like to fix it rather than replace the case. Could you advice...

Re: Mounting position

Thank you! The zip ties will be replace by a permanent mount which requires drilling my aerobars.

Mounting position

Hey John, the setup up of my aerobars and water bottle makes it difficult to use a standard mount. So I came up with a custom mount that will be permanentely attached to my aerobars using screws. Prior to drilling I would like to get your opinion if it is a good position for the PowerPod or if the s...

Re: Could the speed sensor activate the PowerPod?

I admit reading that high absolute value sounds somewhat crazy since it is based on worst case assumptions (huge event and being in the very last wave of athletes). For the Ironman 70.3 Japan, my previous race, 2 h would have been sufficient. I've got a very long layover on my flight home tomorrow a...

Re: Could the speed sensor activate the PowerPod?

Thank you that would be a nice and easy solution to my problem! Based on my last race (an event with 3500 athletes) but being consistent with my previous half distance races would be: Bike check-in a day before the race, On race day: - 6 AM transition zone closes, - 8:15 AM start of the last wave of...

Could the speed sensor activate the PowerPod?

Dear John, I used the Powerpod in two triathlon races, the Ironman 70.3 Japan and today at the Ironman 70.3 World Championships in Australia. While the PowerPod is working well in training, my aim getting it was pacing during racing. And the PowerPod failed in both events. The reason is simply that ...

Re: Constant tail wind in ride files

Hey John, sorry for the long time not replying. Please find the ride file of my out-and-back ride attached. It is a 16km ride. Since I am living on a hill I cut it out and used the section from 1.8km to 14.1km for the calibration. Regarding the ride file I posted earlier (06_25), there should be no ...

Constant tail wind in ride files

Hey John, for my past couple of rides with my PowerPod there seems to be a 13 to 15 km/h tail wind all the time. I calibrated the PowerPod with an out-and-back ride. As far as I can tell the profile looks OK (not too far off from the generated profile during the initial calibration ride). The setup ...

Re: Question Wind scaling values

My PP is mounted between my between my aerobars. The wind port is about 3 cm below the bars. An out and back ride gave a very high (3.274) wind scaling factor. I repeated the same out and back ride 2 more times and the wind scaling factor is consistently very high. I could imagine a high wind scalin...

I am using this one for my Zipp Vuka Aero handlebars. It mounts directly onto the stem and does not flex.

Re: Messed up calibration ride or problem with aero bar moun

Thank you for the video link. So far I only applied to to my road bike but it worked very nicely. I agree on you comment about the position of the mount. I attach a photo of the mounted PowerPod showing how much it extends below the aero bars. I would assume it is sufficient but have no real idea. T...

Messed up calibration ride or problem with aero bar mount

Hello, I am used PowerPod for a few weeks on my roadbike without any issues. Today, I mounted it on my TT bike, paired it with the sensors, and did the configuration ride. Since a mount expecting a tube or something like that does not work with my aero bars I am using a mount attached to the stem. T...
