Cal Fine Tune

John, Would you mind taking a look at the attached file and letting me know if the calibration looks good? For the most part the Powerpod power data matches up well with my Powertap data but there are a few outliers and possible issues. I want to be sure the matching is a result of the calibration a...

Velodrome Calibration

John, two questions: 1. Can the calibration be done in an open-air velodrome - about 1/3 of a mile loop - or do you absolutely need an out and back? If it can be done in a velodrome will the computer go from 0 all the way to 100W or simply stop at 50W without a "back" ride? 2. I must have ...

Re: Slope %

Thx for the quick response, John. In response to your suggestions: 1. Side and front photos are attached. From the top you can see nothing since the PP is below the aero bars. It appears to me to be level with the ground. 2. I did the reset 3. I did the out and back calibration. The PP light behaved...

Re: Slope %

Thx for the quick response, John. The file attached. Please note that since the data are so far off I haven't bothered to make any adjustments e.g. wind. Let me how I can sort this out. DK.

Re: Using PowerPod to Optimize CdA

John, I'd really appreciate your input/suggestions regarding my last post. I'd like to be sure I've done what I can to get my PowerPod properly calibrated and that I'm not overlooking anything. I'd also like to know that I understand and am tapping into its full CdA capabilities. Thx. DK.

Re: Using PowerPod to Optimize CdA

John, I’ve now had an opportunity to read the CdA instructions along with the Isaac Software and Newton instructions. I have also done an out and back ride with a series of 10 coast-downs based on those instructions. The file is attached. The coast-downs were done immediately after the out and back....

Using PowerPod to Optimize CdA

I’m trying to use the PowerPod to optimize my position on my TT bike using the CdA feature. I have a Powertap power meter so I’m less concerned with the accuracy of the PowerPod power readings. My primary interest is CdA. I’m uncertain though about what I need to do. I looked to the Newton manual fo...
