Re: Using PowerPod with new TT mount
Yes, that much I knew. It's not dropping out on my Garmin though, which is further away from the speed sensor than the PowerPod... Reading around, I presume this is the reported issue with speed sensor dropouts, i.e. I need to buy a front hub-mounted sensor. It's interesting that when ground speed d...

Using PowerPod with new TT mount
I just received the TT mount and went out to try it. Early morning, the wind was low. Practically zero traffic. An out and back. There are curious artefacts in the data. The wheel speed seems to momentarily drop, similar to what happens if it drops out in a Garmin file, but it doesn't drop to zero. ...

Re: Initial calibration in windy conditions
I *am* using it with a DFPM at the moment, but that is only to try to understand it's characteristics for use as a standalone power meter. I have updated my profile now, I did that after the ride yesterday. Actually my measurements and weight are very close to the default 180lb/71in, and I did ride ...

Initial calibration in windy conditions
I have another thread at the moment where I discussed issues with mounting the PowerPod to my TT bike. I have parked that idea for the time being until I get the TT mount, which I think is due in a couple of weeks. That thread is here: http://www.ibikeforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=93&t=3537 In the m...

Re: Has anyone been able to pair PowerPod with another DFPM?
I successfully merged two .fit files, but one didn't work. Velocomp reported the file as corrupt, but it uploaded into Golden Cheetah, TrainingPeaks and Strava with no problems. However, when I exported to TCX I could import it into Isaac no problem. So that workaround is fine.

Re: PowerPod calibration for TT bike/wind scaling
Hi John, I imported the .fit file into Golden Cheetah no problems, so I exported it as GPX and have attached it to the ride, and attached that ride here. I will think about the mount. I tightened it as much as I dare, given the 3T computer bridge is plastic (or at least clad in plastic). I had to sp...

Re: PowerPod calibration for TT bike/wind scaling
The zip file is not a zip file, it's a .fit file (.fit could not be attached). So please just remove the .zip extension. It's the DPFM file for the 1909 .ibr file attached in the previous message.

Re: PowerPod calibration for TT bike/wind scaling
Attached ibr files. First one is the out and back at 1504 that I managed to add the DFPM data to. Second one is the later, virtually identical out and back that I was unable to add DFPM data to.

PowerPod calibration for TT bike/wind scaling
I spent a fascinating day yesterday setting up my PowerPod. I mounted it on my TT bike in a similar position to the new TT garmin combo mount, between the arms, using the standard PowerPod mount and a 3T computer bridge spaced out with old tyre. It's extremely secure. The PowerPod wind port is rough...
