Re: Calibrating PowerPod with a DFPM
Hi John I finally got the DFPM calibration completed although I could not pair the Assioma pedals to the Powerpod so I recorded a sperate ride file and merged them into Isaac. The was not much impact to the profiles which underlines the strength of the Velocomp calibration routine. I’ve enclosed the...

Re: Calibrating PowerPod with a DFPM
Unfortunately the test wasn't vey successful. I paired the PowerPod but it didn't pick up the pedals, the HR monitor cadence and speed sensor were picked up but not the pedals and yes they were awake. Unfortunately I didn't check the profile until after I did the calibration and the out and back rid...

Re: Calibrating PowerPod with a DFPM
Hi John I finally going to have a bit of time to do this DFPM calibration. In terms of pairing the Assioma pedals, do I actually need to do this via the PowerPod and then do a out and back ride. Before seeing your post I’d just downloaded the profile from the PowerPod and updated the DFPM 5 Chr ANT+...

Calibrating PowerPod with a DFPM
I would like to try and calibrate my Powerpod against my Favero Assioma DFPM pedals. I'm using the power pod on my commuting bike only so would just swap over the pedal short term. I'm assuming this would yield the most accurate calibration assuming the Favero Assioma are correct. I have had a look ...

Re: Polar M460 adn PP V5
By way of an update for Polar Users Polar M460 does not work with PowerPod V5 - The Polar see the PowerPod and pairs but does not show any data. Polar V650 does work - John - You tested this some years ago. The above is nothing to do with the Bluetooth implementation of the PowerPod, Polar are notor...

Re: Polar M460 adn PP V5
Hi John My current PowerPod is a V2 ( first Bluetooth version) but it is dead, it cost take a charge and the rubber cover on the switch has gone. Time to buy a new one and the are some interesting prices in Europe. I just want to establish if it will work with my Polar m460 just for it to receive po...

Polar M460 adn PP V5
Hi I’m thinking of getting a V5 PP for my commuting bike. I have had a couple of power pods through the years going back to the original Kickstarter model. On my commuting bike a use an old Polar M460 (yes I’m somewhat wed to the polar eco system and training peaks). I know the PP woks with the V650...

PowerPod V3 ANT & BLE
Hi I looking at upgrading my V2 PowerPod BLE ANT+ to the V3. Pobikekit in Europe have a excellent deal at the moment. Could you confirm that all V3's are BLE compatible and there is not a ANT+ only version. Is there anything you can to do swap over my powerstroke feature from my V2 before I factory ...

Re: Relay / Re broadcast of sensors
hoosier1981 you mention Garmin and unless I'm very much mistaken all Garmin head unit use ANT+ not BLE. The difference between ANT and BLE is that ANT+ supports one to many pairings and BLE doesn't. This means that you can pair your ANT+ head unit to the ANT speed and cadence sensors directly at the...

Re: Relay / Re broadcast of sensors
The may be a way the the BLE has been implemented on the head unit.. I have exactly the same issue on a Polar V650 see below for description: http://velocompforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=93&t=4452&p=23674&hilit=polar+v650#p23674 I've turned the GPS off but the head unit is still not showing ...

Re: PowerPod Ride Configuration
Tim I'm sure John will confirm but the mount angle of your PowerPod is right at the maximum. As a rule of thumb the lettering on the side should be parallel to the ground.. Shift you mount and the PowerPod will adjust over the next 8 mins of you next ride. As it is set up it the wind port is more li...

Re: Polar V650 not picking up speed data from the PowerPod
Strange, I can definitely confirm the the PowerPod is connected to the speed sensor. Power readings are exactly as expected and further more going through long tunnel I loose speed on the Polar head unit but power is still fine. This shows that the PP is working as it should be. I guess it will rema...

Polar V650 not picking up speed data from the PowerPod
John My second question of the day. I know you have a Polar V650 that you test with. This isn't really you problem but I'd like to know if you have different results to me. On some of my bikes I have duel sensors and the polar picks up the BTLE side. On one bike I have just ANT sensors and use the P...

Re: Trainer Mode remains On even after setting it to Off
So to be clear, are you saying that Turbo Train Mode operates at a profile level and not at a device level?
If that is the case and given my multi bike setup I should never have to use the toggle feature in Isaac.. ?
I'll give it a try this week..

Re: Power goes up freewheeling downhill and down when going
John This happened to me again today and it’s becoming very irritating as I could do nothing on the bike to switch the PowerPod over to normal road mode. I did a several hard resets but that just trigged a second ride file in trainer mode. In term of bikes, I have a bike that is permanently setup on...

Thanks for the update very good news. Looks like I'll have to sell on my ANT+ Powerpod and buy the BTE version now.
The bridging function is interesting as only 4iiii have anything like this with the Viiiiva HR monitor.
Wishing you all the best for the new year.

Powerpod BLE compatability with Polar V650
John
I see you have tested the BLE version of the PowerPod with various software, have you have a chance to test the unit with any BTLE cycle computers. I’m thinking about upgrading my ANT+ version and compatibility is the key criteria for me, in particular the Polar V650.

Re: Important firmware update--Dynamic rolling resistance
I did a very nonscientific test yesterday. In the center of some of the one of the roads into my village ( a very quiet road ) the is a line pave in the center of the road (Cobble stones) marking the center of the road and nice smooth tarmac either side. This allowed me to ride a certain wattage on ...

Re: Important firmware update--Dynamic rolling resistance
Wow that looks interesting. I'll be interested to see how this comes with sections of cobbles. Normally PowerPod just gives up. I've not tried PowerPod on a VTT Mountain Bike yet but I always assumed there would be a large discrepancy in reading between riding through mud and on gravel, as this is a...

Re: PowerPod BLE/ANT is here!
We're working on that. It is not as easy as it sounds! I guess this is the challenge of a single GUID and multiple data channels. There aren't many apps that support multichannel data streaming and next to none that support power. Rotating the data channels under a single GUID is a option but has i...
