Re: Wind speed output

ANT+ data fields are more complicated and more bureaucratic than it seems. But neither the head unit nor the FIT file must acknowledge that the data stream is wind speed (since Isaac knows it we are all set). The need is only for real time display while riding. ANT+ has profiles for things like oxy...

Wind speed output

I would like PowerPod to display wind speed in one of the data fields on my Garmin 800 bike computer.
If Garmin doesn't accept wind data from a power meter, one of the unused data types from the power category could be used (power balance, for example).

Re: Issac software

Is it correct to assume that "climbing" (meters) times "Cal Weight" (Newtons) is the portion of the energy that went to Gravity, and that the average Gravity power would be that energy divided by the time (seconds)?

Re: Issac software

In the Advanced Stats window, Energy (joules) equals the product of average power (watts) and time (seconds). The additional data appears to be the breakdown of this average power into specific categories Aero power, Rolling power and Gravity power. However, the sum of (Aero + Rolling + Gravity) ave...

Re: It's here: GPS for your Newton!

I am running the Android version, and I didn't notice a strong effect on battery life. Is the 7%/h figure specific to the iPhone? And does it refer to the additional drain due to the Tracker app or the total drain including the app? Yesterday I ran it for 4.5 hours starting late in the afternoon wit...

Re: It's here: GPS for your Newton!

The relative height ratio between upwind and downwind graphs on Google Earth doesn't scale with the Isaac display. Actually this is not entirely true. The graphs do scale correctly when the "wind relative to bike" display option is selected in Isaac prior to sending data to Google Earth. ...

Re: It's here: GPS for your Newton!

[/quote] Do you have a link to your ride and can you upload the original ibr file? Here is the link to the Strava activity uploaded from the FIT file (Garmin): http://www.strava.com/activities/73738798 And the same ride uploaded from the csv file (Isaac): http://www.strava.com/activities/73743233 Av...

Re: It's here: GPS for your Newton!

I tried it for the first time and I LOVE it!! Viewing the track with wind speed on Google Earth is great! Viewing wind speed on any map is great! I recorded the same ride simultaneously in Garmin Edge 800 paired to the Newton, and compared duplicate activities in Strava. I found that elevation and p...
