Re: Big power differences between Favero Assioma and Newton
Is it possible that because the new bike is more aero, from the frame to the Zipp wheels that it is not calibrating correctly? I also entered that I have 700x28mm tires and maybe it believes those have a higher rolling resistance, even though they don't when paired with the Zipp wheels. If the Newto...

Big power differences between Favero Assioma and Newton
I just bought a new bike, moved my old Newton to the new bike and recalibrated. The power numbers from the new bike are consistent to my previous bike for 5 years. Everything seems ok. Then two days ago I installed Favero pedals with the idea of eventually adding an Aeropod with the pedals. However,...

Re: Newton Tracker Won't Upload Files
How do I create another account? Isn't my account connected to my email? Not surprisingly, if I try and reregister from Issac it tells me that my account already exists. I don't want to use my work email for my play activities. How about if someone deletes my current account from the server and then...

Re: Newton Tracker Won't Upload Files
I don't have any GPS data on Tracker that I care about so that's ok. However, I have deleted the app multiple times and it doesn't seem to make any difference. The first time I start Tracker after reinstalling it looks normal. It gives me the ability to click on Start without Syncing data message. H...

Re: Newton Tracker Won't Upload Files
Android Samsung S6. This morning I clicked on the Tracker App and it went immendiately into the Ride Data Sync followed by failure dance. It is now several hours later and it still says Ride Data Sync.

Newton Tracker Won't Upload Files
I am aware of the server issues for the last few weeks, but I am still unable to sync tracker data. I get "Ride Data Sync" in progress. Please wait ... eventually I get Data Sync Error, Ride File upload failed. It never succeeds. I have tried clearing the cache (using Application Manager)....

Re: Calibration is off for first 5-10 minutes
I don't think anything like that has happened. Looking back at the last week, the bike was either being ridden or has gone a very short distance from the front door to where it hangs in the basement. It seems that for some unknown reason it has decided to recalibrate itself such that it is off for t...

Re: Calibration is off for first 5-10 minutes
Reading your comment about tilt calibration off, Is there something in the firmware that could cause it to reset/recalibrate itself at what might be an inopportune time, for example on initial power up? I am 100% certain that both the mount and my handlebars haven't budged one bit. However, is there...

Re: Calibration is off for first 5-10 minutes
It's using the K-edge mount. It is rock solid, hasn't moved. I have seen the same exact issue a few times over the past year using the original Newton mount, but that was also rock solid and hasn't moved.

Calibration is off for first 5-10 minutes
Every few months I see that the data for the first 5-10 minutes is off. I appear to have developed extraordinary strength and my power numbers are way up. Then by the later part of the ride they get back closer to normal. I have not recalibrated or changed anything from the previous rides. I just tu...

Re: Tracker never seems to work
I have made some progress. On a few rides, the phone has successfully uploaded tracker info. I have been able to connect via Newton and download the GPS data on my work laptop while at work, but unable to do the same thing on my home wifi. Initially I thought it was my Norton Firewall on my PC block...

Re: Tracker never seems to work
Ok. I have emailed technical support. I did another ride yesterday and again no success. There was no error message upon uploading, but once again when exporting to Strava I got the message that there was no GPS data.

How do I reprocess a ride using a different rider weight?
I'd like to reprocess a ride with a different bike and rider weight. I tried: 1) extracting the profile from the iBike and then increasing the rider weight and bike weight . 2) Saved profile 3) Used Tools switch profile after ride. However it ends up showing a lower total power when it should be the...

Re: Tracker never seems to work
Android Samsung S4. Did a 60 mile ride today and once again it failed to upload or it failed to sync with the data downloaded into Newton. Not sure how to tell where the failure is.

Tracker never seems to work
I had success a while ago with Tracker, however, I have not had any success for the past weeks. I start Tracker, finish the ride. Often I see a message that upload failed. I can stop and restart and it will try again. Sometimes I don't get any error message. However, whether or not I get an error me...

Re: Differing power numbers when uploaded to Garmin Connect
Racefern, Your analysis is interesting, but not sure how to interpret it yet. In my case I uploaded both the CSV and Fit file to Training peaks. The CSV file was generated by Newton. The FIT file was generated by Garmin. Training Peaks came up with the 2 sets of results. Using CSV it came up with 40...

Re: Differing power numbers when uploaded to Garmin Connect
Here are the files. For some reason the bulletin board won't let me upload the FIT file with the FIT extension so I renamed it. I tried different extensions but they didn't work. It has an ibr extension even though it is a FIT file.

Re: Differing power numbers when uploaded to Garmin Connect
I have a Garmin 810 that is getting power data from my Newton. The two show different power numbers for average, NP, peak. If I upload the CSV file from the Newton and the Garmin FIT file to TrainingPeaks the numbers are different for max power at each time duration. For example the peak 2 minutes, ...

Why is power different between Newton and Garmin 810
I just purchased a Garmin 810 and have set it up to receive power readings from my Newton. For some reason the ride summaries relative to power are substantially different. For example the result of a 1 hour 16 minute ride is: Avg Power Newton: 252W, Garmin: 228W NP Newton 301W, Garmin: 280W IF: New...

CAD/Speed/power data erratic while on a trainer
]I have been using my Newton+ since last October and have recently noticed that the data while riding my trainer seems messed up. I am riding a Kurt Kinetic trainer. Specifically the Cad and Speed data is very erratic. While the data is erratic, it has a very consistent periodic pattern. The data wh...

Re: Newton Plus setup, calibration, and confusing documentation
Thanks for the recommendation. It is very nice to have some people willing to answer questions for new users. That is flat, for around here. :-) I would need to go 10+ miles from home to find a flatter road. Maybe this weekend. I have used a Kurt Kinetic trainer for a few years, so I have power and ...

Re: Newton Plus setup, calibration, and confusing documentation
This morning I followed racerfern's suggestions. I did a TILT calibration, a WIND CAL, and then rode the same exact ride 3 times. I'm seeing inconsistent data. This is about a 2.7 mile out and back, flattish country back road, a tiny bit bumpy, no traffic (maybe 6-7 cars passed me over the 3 rides),...

Re: Newton Plus setup, calibration, and confusing documentation
Ok. It looks like I did everything I was supposed to do except push the Wind Cal button. A more important question was around running multiple calibration rides and averaging the results. Does this makes sense? - Run multiple out and back calibration rides. Each one will generate its own "ibr&q...

Re: Newton Plus setup, calibration, and confusing documentation
That's interesting. What you described is not in the documentation for the Newton. It says (and I'll cut and paste) **************** The setup process involves four simple steps: 1) Enter basic information into the Newton’s memory 2) Pair your Newton to the wireless sensors 3) Perform a Tilt Calibra...

Newton Plus setup, calibration, and confusing documentation
I have had my Newton Plus for 3 days. I been trying to verify that it is properly calibrated. The documentation for the Newton and Isaac is at times inconsistent, lacking or confusing. A few questions: 1. How do I run multiple calibration rides and compare/average them? Should they all be done as pr...
