Re: Garmin compatibility announcement

I read your post with interest and realized you are in the best position of anyone. You can own a wireless iBike setup for as little as $597 + shipping by searching a bit on the internet. $349 for a wired iBike Pro, $149 for a wireless mount and $99 for the "G" firmware. So, all things co...

Re: Garmin compatibility announcement

Brodirt, No you are not alone. I too have been waiting anxiously to see what would happen with Garmin compatibility. While I know the Velocomp have busted their A$$ to make this happen, I too agree that the cost is a bit steep. I understand the need to recoup development costs, but I also believe th...

Some ibike mounting questions

No I don't own one yet. But I am much closer, now that the garmin compatibility has been achieved. I did have a few questions. 1. I would love to see some people on how they mount both their ibike and edge. I don't plan on giving up my 305 since i like the GPS functions while riding. 2. Is there an ...

Re: Garmin compatibility announcement

Richard, I hear you and Garmin, while they make great product are not anywhere close to you guys on listening to there customers. I'm sure you guys would be open to doing something with them but as you have implied it doesn't seem that it would go both ways, I'm sure. I emailed them about the 305 a...

Re: Garmin compatibility announcement

Hey,

Here is an off the wall question. Will the Ibike cadence/speed sensor work with a garmin?

Pretty cool. A big step towards more widespread adoption. I hope it is a rousing success.

Re: Garmin compatibility announcement

For sure the powertap and garmin 705 would be a sweet setup but your talking about $1700 worth of gear, the bike I'm riding right now isn't even worth that much!! Anyways, I admit I am a bit of a tecno geek and love my toys but at the end of the day it's about how many watts you are cranking out, e...

Re: Garmin compatibility announcement

Yea the combined data is moderatly cool. And I can see the benefit with other PM's. If you could use say a Powertap hub but with a 705 head unit, you keep a nice clean cockpit and still get all of your data. But with the ibike that doesn't help since the sensors and "head unit" are one.

Re: Garmin compatibility announcement

No transmitting to a 305. But at least you can use the same speed/cadence sensor for a 305 and ibike. Good enough for me. I honestly am not sure the benefit of getting power data in a 705 with an ibike anyhow.

Re: Garmin compatibility announcement

Cool, Hopefully the pricing won't be too bad. This is something I have been waiting for before jumping in to the ibike deep end. Will there be any chance that models moving forward will come with this firmware already installed? Or will it always be a purchased upgrade? [edit] Also any thoughts for ...

Re: Setup for an Additional Bike

Why bother with unique packaes? Just add 3 items. Sell the wireless mount, sensor, HR strap individually. Then people have the option to buy just what they need (or replacements if necessary). That shouldn't be logistically challenging.
