Hi;
Would the PowerStroke license from my N6 (tradein for PP4) be transferred to a PowerPod V4 as well?
Thanks

Re: Temperature error Newton 6
It is a convenience and used it most recently to verify why my fingers had no feeling in them. The N6 said it was -1º C, so it was confirmed that it was freezing cold!
Thanks John.
Thanks John.

Temperature error Newton 6
Hi; I have noticed over the last few rides the temperature the Newton 6 displays and records is cooler than it should be, 4 or 5°C. I have had to do a hard reset because of another issue (freezing while scanning for ANT+ devices) and that didn't seem to affect the temperature readings. Can I reset t...

Re: Always a tail wind!
Thanks again.
What is the best method for cleaning the port.
After cleaning, do I need to do a new Cal Ride?

Re: Always a tail wind!
Thanks John. Wind Cal in the Setup in N6 I assume... I checked the WindCal in N6 and see that, with my finger covering the port, it reads approx -3.3 (varies from -3.1 to -3.5). I reset to zero. Now varies between 0 and -.1, pretty good I expect. I'll do another Cal Ride this morning and ride. I'll ...

Re: Always a tail wind!
Here's tonight's ride. As you can see there is an out and back with tail wind in both directions. Not true. I see that the indicated tail wind was was around 15 km/h with a high of 30 km/h. The countervailing tailwind is indicated as roughly 10 km/h! There was a significant (not really strong) headw...

I assume you mean a new scan in Garmin.
BTW, any info on my updated thread, "Always a tail wind!"?

Can't sync Newton and Garmin Edge 820
I used to get the power from the N6 broadcast and picked up by my Garmin 820. I made an adjustment in Isaac to ignore DFPM, and I can't say that caused the N6 not being visible to Garmin. Garmin scans and the N^ is not found. How do I set up to broadcast power data to Garmin Edge 820? Also, how do I...

Re: Always a tail wind!
Latest Cal Ride.
Wind offset seems good - downhill efforts resulted in power being displayed on N6 and power generally seemed realistic.
Why does this happen? It seems I have a good Cal Ride then at some point things get skewed.
Thanks

Re: Always a tail wind!
Hi John; On todays ride it was fairly breezy and yet over a very circuitous route, it appears I had a tailwind for virtually the entire ride. This is not the case, there were some significant headwinds. Also, power on downhill sections, where I closely watch the power, often showed zero or very low ...

Re: Always a tail wind!
OK, thanks. That makes sense.
I haven't done anything in terms of the ride file. I did set the Wind Cal in the N6 this evening in prep for a big ride tomorrow.
Gotta say, you guys are the best at covering customer issues.

Re: Always a tail wind!
Thanks.
I see the tailwind both up and down the same hill repeat.
It just seems to me that if I have a 7 km/hr tailwind up the hill, I should have a 7 km/hr headwind on the way down in the opposite direction.. No?

Re: Always a tail wind!
Hi John;
I'm still having the same issue with wind after following your instructions.
This ride had some drafting (7.1%) which I ignored for "Check Calibration".
I did not send this correction the the N6 as I did last time.

Always a tail wind!
It seems the wind scaling is off, as Isaac shows I am experiencing a tail wind when I ride in circles. I set the ground wind speed to zero and it seems to reflect the actual windspeed better. I have attached uncorrected and corrected files. This includes 6 laps of a crit course and 4 hill repeats, s...

Re: Newton 6 sensor challenge
Reset = right, center, left and bottom. I always forget the bottom.
Done.
I'm on a group ride tomorrow, we'll see. I hope that's all that is needed, although a new Aeropod wouldn't be a bad thing.

My smallest oven, a Breville, lowest temp is 120F.
I will try hard reset (left, middle and right buttons?). Can I use my current Cal or better off with fresh data points?

The Newton hasn't been exposed to any direct moisture in months.
I'll give the oven a go (gulp).

Newton 6 sensor challenge
Lasts night's ride really challenged my Newton 6. On the way to the group meeting place, all is fine. The N6 timed out and turned off, as it is designed. When I restarted I started havng all sorts of issues with the sensor syncing. First I lost the signal from my cadence (new style Garmin with fresh...

John, can you elaborate on the advancements in the AeroPod over PowerPod and, of particular interest to me, the Newton 6?

Too bad Velocomp discontinued the Newton. If it was possible to add a GPS chip to it, no mapping just recording, the Newton would have been absolutely complete.

VeloTrack doesn't record correctly
Over the last little while the VeloTracker has not recorded the whole ride. The latest, yesterday, recorded 3:29:28, but total ride time of 00:08:42. Of a 45 Km ride only 3.2 Km. was recorded. The GPS shows accurate track for about 4-5 minutes, then jumps 15 Km, records a bit again then stops altoge...
