Re: DFPM (Stages) Now What Do I do with the Data?
Thank you and very valuable information as always. I think I'll do some sprint or hard effort intervals and purposefully start with each leg to see if the trend is consistent over time.

Re: DFPM (Stages) Now What Do I do with the Data?
Thank you John. That surge at mile 29 was a rapid acceleration of me leading someone out to sprint. So this leads me to think that the Newton doesn't equate the acceleration as requiring as much power as the Stages because there is a significant difference in that jump or that my initial kick may ha...

DFPM (Stages) Now What Do I do with the Data?
I now have a Stages and connected it to my Newton+. All the data collection appears to be working, but I"m struggling to determine what am I supposed to do with the comparison data. Am I supposed to tweak Newton settings based on what I'm seeing? Here are screen shots of today's ride.

Bad Slope Data
Raced today and came home to find out my slope was totally off. Not sure how that happened, but it did for both races. I tried the fix bad tilt feature but no luck. Is there any way to repair these rides?
Thanks,
Matt

Mounting with Top Cap Mount
When I purchased the Newton at its initial release there was a top cap mount for the top of the steer tube so that the Newton laid over the stem. The one problem I've had since day one is getting my headset nice and tight while using this mount. I have FSA "guts" inside the steertube so th...

Wind Problem - Always Tailwind
I started my off season about 4 weeks ago and put my Newton+ on the shelf to just enjoy my rides. I started riding with it again yesterday and noticed that it showed my entire ride as having a tailwind. Today's ride was the same. Since both rides were solo rides without drafting, I know that this re...

Re: It's here: GPS for your Newton!
Great news! A couple questions: 1. What's the battery life experience on the iPhone when using the GPS app? Most GPS apps on the iPhone will kill a battery in less than two hours, which isn't long enough for many people. 2. Does the app need cellular reception to record? A lot of rides in the mounta...

Newton Won't Connect with New Computer
Just installed Isaac on my new Windows 8 machine and now when I try to connect my Newton I get an error message that "iBike needs to use a com port in the range 1-64."

Re: Files Deleted Without Saving
Okay, I found the rides saved with the date of June 5, 2012 instead of today. I'm very glad they weren't lost, but I'm not sure why the date changed.

Files Deleted Without Saving
I raced today in two different races and I did a trip reset in between each warm-up and each race. When I went to download my iBike Newton+ data into the software, it showed a total of 5 rides which was correct. As I always do, I selected to download and erase. Unfortunately, the software only downl...

Re: Garmin Edge 500 Power Meter Calibration
I don't believe the calibration is absolutely necessary. Garmin suggests doing it before every ride but that's just not a reality. I haven't do it in forever but I think you need to select calibrate on the Garmin and then pedal backwards a few times. Hopefully someone can chime in if there are absol...

Re: New Handlebar and Stem mount for Newton
I figured it out. Yes, I am supposed to remove the stem cap and mount directly. Thanks!

Re: New Handlebar and Stem mount for Newton
Okay, I'm supposed to have that, but how does it mount? Do I remove the cap from the top of my stem and screw it directly in there? There's no directions so maybe that's why I'm confused.

Re: New Handlebar and Stem mount for Newton
I just received my Newton and I'm seriously confused. I received the Newton, a USB to USB Mini cable, and what appears to be only part of a mount. The mount is made of metal and the part that slides on to the back of the Newton is obvious. It's then mounted directly to a flat plate with a long hex b...
