Garmin Forerunner & iBike Sensors

Post by gb5 »

Can my Garmin Forerunner 405CX be paired with an iBike sensor? I would like to get cadence on the watch. I've tried to pair the iBike sensor with the 405 as a "Bike Sensor" but it's not seeing it. I saw one other post that the user had no problems getting a 305 paired with the iBike sensors so it is at least theoretically possible.

Garmin makes your 405CX...and they make the technology used in your iBike sensor, too!

I checked the 405CX manual. It says you can pair your unit with an ANT+ speed/cadence sensor. Do you have a combined speed/cadence sensor, or just a separate cadence sensor? If it's a combined sensor then it should pair; if it is a stand-alone cadence sensor then you might be out of luck.

Thanks John. I have the separate sensors. I was trying to use them on my spin bike so the combined sensor would be partially useless, but since I'd be happy with just cadence it might be worth a try.
