PowerPod dying after 2.5 hours

Post by Gottago »

I've noticed over the past few months my PowerPod V2 only lasts about 2.5 hours after being fully charged. I've had the PP for about 3-4 years. What is a typical lifespan? I've heard there may be firmware update issues but no one seems to confirm this.

Thanks.

Like all rechargeable batteries, eventually it ages and its ability to hold a charge decreases. How quickly its capacity diminishes depends on how often it is recharged but your situation is not out of the normal.

Unfortunately there is no firmware update that can "fix" this problem.

Thanks for the reply. I’ve only been using the PowerPod 3-4 times a month (weekend rides) so the charging cycle seems low for this to be occurring. Unlike my Garmin Edge 520 which is also beginning to die after 3.5 hrs but in that case I use it 8-10x/week, so that would more likely seem to be due to charging frequency (which is usually every other day).
Cheers.

I’m guessing it’s not possible to replace the battery…

If it's a V2 (vertical orientation of the case) then we can't replace the battery.
