Battery Storage

Post by hoosier1981 »

If my bike stays in the garage (which doesn't typically go below freezing) - would it be best to leave the PP on the bike, vs take it off and store it in the house with the rest of my bike electronics?
I mainly ask this regarding affect on the battery life. I've never had this particular PP go 'dead' after buying it this past november. However I had it fully charged and left it in the garage on my bike...it was averaging around 38 degrees. 2.5 weeks went by since then and the PP was fully dead when I got the bike down - should I be concerned? I charged it back up and ran it for a half hour and it seemed fine since (I haven't had time to take it out longer yet).

You can leave your PP in the garage, but you should recharge it once every two weeks while not in use.
