Negative Braking Value

Post by rotenapple »

I have set up my Powerpod to best accuracy on two bikes. Power curve very similar to data from DFPM over last 6 weeks. I'm intrigued though that I get negative values for energy spent on braking. Happens with both bikes, example stats attached. Both routes were round trips with a few small hills. Does this suggest I have set something up wrongly?

"Braking" is the energy you spent by applying the brakes. If you never apply the brakes, then this number will be around zero.

Nothing obvious is wrong...

Thanks John. The stats on page 16 of the Issac Software PDF have a positive value of +14 KJ but the example on Page 15 is -19.3 KJ and is referenced in the text. Makes more sense to me now.

Wow, you are a careful reader!

The image on page 16 is from a very old version of Isaac software, "iBike 3". We've updated things since then...

Page 15 of Isaac does show a negative value...

We will update the instructions!
