pp weird trasmiting

Post by kdx200 »

Today i charged to full battery the PP, put it in the bike (i always try putting it in the same position but usually the 8min calibration happens) and wnet to a long ride.
It did not do the 8 minute calibrating (it showed the watts, i think with correct numbers, from the begining).
At about km 84 the head unit showed 0 watts... the speed was ok, the cadence was ok... i waited for a minute or so, and touch the pp button... and the watts came back.... strange...

since the 8 minute calibration is not happening and this 0 watt weird issue happened...shoul i reset to factory and start a new calibration? i think the power numbers are ok, but this no calibration at the beggining (i detached the pp every ride to download the data) is getting me doubtful.

heres the ride.

thank you very much

Your PP was rotated out of position at the 2:37 mark. This knocked watts to zero.

When you pushed on the button you put it back in its original position and your watts were restored.

Make sure your PP is firmly attached to its mount so that it cannot rotate.

John,
Why the 8 minute calibration did not happened.? Iam aware that kind of situation force a itself calibration. Apart from this, the initial reading was instantaneous (NO 8 minute calibration and the pp was at my computer usb before the ride)
Also... did you see any abnormal issue in the file?

Thank you very much for your permanently support.

It did happen. Whenever the PP is bumped the recalibration begins automatically. Had you not touched the button of your PP things would have been OK after 8 minutes. Because you "helped" the calibration by pushing the button (and rotating the PP back into position) the problem was corrected after only 5 minutes.

Perfecto. I understand. Thanks
And what about the initial calibration? Why í saw the power numbers at the very beggining in the correct way?
Thanks

During the first 8 minutes your PP did recalibrate itself.

The central problem here is that your PP is not firmly attached to its mount. Do this and all will be well.

How do you check the tilt from a ride file?

You can't check it directly; it is a "behind the scenes" measurement that we have.
