Powerpod and Specialized Roubaix Futureshock

Hi,

I'm considering purchasing a Powerpod but I have a question.
One of the bikes I own is a Specialized Roubaix 2017 with the Futureshock - basically a damper between the frame and the handlebar. If I mount the powerpod on the handlebars, will it give correct and, most importantly, consistent power values? I don't have a way of locking up the damper like it's supposed to be done on MTBs for the calibration ride. But on the other hand, the futureshock damper has a maximum compression of 20mm. I do a lot of kms on cobblestones, Will that be a problem?
I will be swapping the powerpod between two bikes, one of them is a more conventional road bike. Will I be able to get consistent power data between the two?

Best regards,
Mario Bessa

This should work just fine. I would make sure to do the calibration ride on a road that does not have cobblestones.

Hi,

Thanks for the response. Will I have consistent power values between the two bikes or is it something that is very sensitive to the calibration on each bike? I ride both bikes very frequently, about 50% of the time on each one, so I'll be moving the powerpod between the two once or twice a week.

Another question: what speed/cadence sensors do you recommend? I have a wahoo bluesc and I'm not impressed by its performance.

Best regards

You will create a separate profile for each of your bikes. If you have unique speed/cadence sensors for each bike, PP will automatically figure out which bike you're riding.

I recommend the Garmin magnet-less sensors. In our experience they have much better performance than the Wahoo sensors.
