AeroPod, PowerPod and Newton

If I am using a Garmin and don't plan to use Bluetooth, is there any advantage in not going with the original ANT only model?
I read on DCR that the new model has better road condition software, but has all of that been applied to the original now?
Would the dual transmitter use more battery?

Original model is a bit less expensive. Same firmware in all models, so road condition management is in both. Dual transmitter does not use any additional energy.

BLE model does allow for smartphone management of apps, and use of PowerHouse Bike app workouts, which ANT-only model does not.
