Power data seemed wrong for approx first 10mins

Post by usedtobefaster »

I've noticed this a couple of times recently. On my ride today the power reading on my Edge 500 was too variable and way too high, I reckon about double, for about the first 10mins of the ride, but after this the results seemed about what I'd come to expect from previous rides and RPE. I'm wondering if this is coming from swapping the Powerpod between bikes although each time I'm pushing down and forward on the back of the Powerpod when I install it and the clamp position isn't changing.

I've looked at the tilt analysis and it looks like there's some adjustment happening in the first 10 mins but I'm not sure what this means or why it's happened.

When you reattach PowerPod to its mount it needs to be in EXACTLY the same position. If it's not then it will take about 8 minutes for it to automatically recalibrate itself. You see this happening in the green line over the first 8 minutes.

This is normal behavior; your PowerPod is working perfectly!
