Hello John,
I thought ... about the calibration of the PP at the beginning of the rides, it would not be possible to have a signal on the garmin that warns us when it is complete and possibly make sure that it's not recorded in the .ibr file, or maybe recorded separately? In this way the average and normalized power would be perfect and consistent with those recorded by the garmin and on strava (I normally start the recording of the ride when I see that the PP begins to report correct watts, but it is difficult to guess the precise moment...). Maybe it could be even just a timer, since the required time should be about 90 seconds.
What do you think about it, is that nonsense?
Thanks, regards
Correct initial calibration alarm
Re: Correct initial calibration alarm
Well, anything is possible, but such a change would require firmware changes by Garmin...and I highly doubt they would do that.
You have the practical solution; wait 90 seconds before turning on your Garmin
