Had to adjust mount - last ride does not look as good

Post by brantel »

John,

I had to move my mount due to adjusting the bars, flipping over the stem and adding some shims. This moved the mount from the original location where the original calibration took place.

The unit clearly noticed this and went over 9 minutes before I saw any power. So it looks like it did try and correct for the change in position.

I then road another ~12 mile out and back loop twice. The file is attached. The results do not look as good as before. The average power for this ride does not even come close to the prior rides on the same course. I was seeing way to low of power when going down hill compared to all the prior rides.

I have also included a TCX file from my Garmin Edge 520. This file starts after the PP looked to be done re-calibrating at 12:56

The original mounting angle had the unit tilted back where the letters on the side were tilted up about 10° which had the wind port sorta up. The new location has the letters level which had the wind port sorta down. Nothing else changed.
I always ensure the PP is rotated down at the back with the stop up against the bracket.

I tried to remove the section from the front in Isaac and then do a calibration analyzation but it produced some weird numbers so I figured I would let you look at it to give advice.

The first 8 minutes the PP is recalibrating itself. The rest of the ride looks fine.
