AeroPod, PowerPod and Newton

I'm confused by all the Newton 6 information. Does the Newton 6 device actually use a newer firmware version beyond FW5.x? Or is Newton 6 essentially running 5.x with an upgraded shell & wind port?

I recently picked up a used Newton 4, and will be upgrading the firmware soon, once I verify everything is working. Just curious why the firmware upgrade option is to FW5.0 instead of 6.0 (hence the above question).

Newton 5 was introduced a in 2014, and featured the Newton 5.x firmware (prior versions of FW were Newton 4). So, the Newton 5 upgrade is for older Newtons running firmware older than 5.x

Newton 6 was introduced in 2015, and incorporated a significant change to the exterior case.

You're correct that Newton 6 models use Newton 5 firmware.
