Cycleops Trainer and Newton

Hi, i have a Cycleops Magneto trainer, and i have been using it with the Newton Trainer profile for that model. but i just realized that i have my trainer set for intensity level 3 out of 5. my question is, would this affect my power output? is that profile in the Newton Settings set for a specific intensity level in the trainer? i have heard that i should be using it in intensity 5 (highest)... is this correct?
