How to Redo Cal ride or re-enter Cal ride file info?

Hi,

I have 5 bikes in 4 profile numbers (the two least used are numbered profile 4)
My profile 2 always shows Dialed In although I have done 2 cal rides with it.
All the other profiles show Cal Ride performed on xxxxxx date.
If I extract a profile from Newton it doesn't show whether Dialed in or Cal Ride performed because the space is filled by extracted file details

Questions:
a) Is it possible to do a new cal ride on the respective profile after selection in Newton, without having to go through the whole profile creating process?
b) I have all the cal ride files performed since last fall. Is it possible to insert a cal ride file into the stored profile - on the computer (via text program)?
- to the Newton?
Thanks for the help,

Bilcycle

For any profile you have active, you can do a new Cal Ride simply by entering Newton setup, then selecting Cal Ride, then clicking the center button to start the cal ride. All other data that is stored from the active profile (weight, height, wireless IDs) will be unaffected.

If you have profiles stored in Isaac, then to load them into your Newton, go to "Edit/Edit Profiles", then click on the profile you want to upload, then use the "Set Active Profile in Device" to the profile number you want, then click the "Send to Device" to upload the profile.

Thanks for the quick reply Jon,

I do the Cal ride just as you suggest but when I connect to Isaac it isn't syncing the calibration to my profile 2 - instead it suggests adding it to a different profile for some reason, or starting a fresh profile, although profile 2 was selected in Newton before the Cal ride (and still is).
Should I - before connecting the Newton - highlight in Isaac the respective profile(2) to tell it which profile I want to calibrate?

Is it then not possible to use a stored Cal ride file to update a profile?

Thanks for the help,

Bilcycle

Please send screen shots. I don't understand what is happening.

OK,

Here are shots of:

Profile 2 - where the cal ride was done after the profile already existed - still showing Dialed in

Profile 1 - which was made from scratch - with cal ride incorporated, all normal for comparison

Cal Ride which was done done for Profile 2 - not incorporated and I can't see how

If you want shots of what Isaac does immediately after I try to incorporate a new cal ride I will have to do a new ride first.

Best wishes,

Bilcycle

Hi John,

Did you get a chance to look through the files?

Regards, Bilcycle

I looked at your ride files.

1) Both bikes show intermittent cadence readings. Make sure you position your cadence sensor and magnet so they pass within 1-2 coin widths of each other

2) Profile 1 appears to be normal and May 8 ride file is normal.

3) Rain bike profile is within bounds. On which profile is this one set? The profile notes don't say

4) The May 6 ride file from rain bike shows lots of problems: missing cadence, and evidence of rotating mount

5) You appear to be doing a lot of recalibrations. For what it's worth, your recalibrated profiles are nearly identical in the before/after states, so I don't think all the extra cal rides are helping you.

6) If you do a cal ride on a profile that has already been set up, it will say "dialed in".

7) Both your profiles show a DFPM wireless ID, though there is no DFPM data in your ride files.

If you want to start "from scratch" use the command Device/Setup/Reset Profile. Click the profile you want to reset. Then you can do a fresh cal ride

Thanks for all that John,

Starting from the back, what you said in Point 6 actually answers my main question! So the cal ride was probably in the profile after all - just doesn't show up as such on the Isaac page. That would also explain, when I did a cal ride, that the Isaac was asking me where to put it, or of I wanted a new profile.

The rain bike profile is profile 2 - it was actually shown on the screen shot

The "DFPM wireless ID" is actually the ID of my Garmin Edge - I rely entirely on the Newton for power.

Your other points are also a good help - thanks;

I will get onto the magnet clearance and check that the sticky tape under the rain bike mount (which is the direct clamp on the bar job) has been peeled .

Keep safe,

Bilcycle
