New Cal Ride??

Post by barry6054 »

Hello all,

I lowered my saddle a few cm and was wondering if I need to perform another cal ride or if the Newton will update the change automatically a few minutes after I start riding.

Thanks...Barry

If you did not move the position of the Newton on your handlebars then there is no reason to do a new cal ride.

Wouldn't you want to do a new Cal Ride if your change in saddle height could affect your CDA? A few cm's is a pretty big adjustment.

The Cal Ride does not measure CdA. For measurements of this fine a resolution you would need to do coast downs, VERY CAREFULLY.

Thanks to all for the comments!! I won't worry about a new cal ride until I download the new firmware.

if I download FW5 is there any reason to do a new cal ride? I thought there were just feature upgrades, not accuracy related fixes?

Nope. Old calibrations will work just fine!
