Setup

Post by flymal »

I just got my Newton and I'm upgrading from my iPro Gen III. I live in Michigan and don't want to go outside and do the CALride at 32 degrees. So can I do a CAL ride on a trainer if I have the trainer key? Thx

You can ride your Newton indoors for 5 minutes so that the "cal" message disappears.

Fernando is right, though: in the spring, when you take your Newton outdoors, you'll need to do a real "cal ride"!

Ok thanks, I guess I will either use my Gen III this winter or wait for a warmer day and then do my CAL ride. Will it make a difference if I wear more clothes than normal when I do my CAL ride? Then when spring comes around do another CAL ride? I will only ride outside if the temp is above 40 degrees, so most of my riding will be on the trainer. Thanks

The difference between a winter setup and a summer setup is not significant. Look for a 40 degree day (may not be possible where you live) and do your cal ride. The results will work just fine.
