Newton won't connect to computer

After roughly a month my newton won't connect to the computer

I did have this happen once before (~2 wks ago)and after a few frustrating minutes I restarted the computer and have had no problems since

What does it do -- When I plug in the the computer makes the ding like it has connected

Things I have tried this time:
Restarted computer (2x)
Reset Newton (2X)
tried 3 different ports and 2 different cables
ran the test connection in the item in device menu and it finds the driver but still no connection

I do also download this at work so I will try that tomorrow

Tried it at work same issue -- I notice there is a new version of the USB driver available has anyone tried that??
