Use of trainer profiles

Post by Brodirt »

This is not an issue exclusive to my Newton or Isaac.
I had this same issue with my Gen III unit and the prior software.

I set the unit to my trainer profile, the Kurt Kinetic Road Machine, pre-ride.
I download the ride and check the numbers...they generally match what I recall observing from while training. Example...a VO2 max interval was about 360 watts for 3 min on the bike, its pretty close on the download.
But, then if I resend the same trainer profile, KKRM, to the ibike and apply the change to the ride file the power numbers go up by about 4-5%.
Which is correct and why would there be an error if inside? It makes no sense.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a solution? Which is correct?

This can happen with road rides and can cause minor changes but I see no reason to switch profiles when using a trainer. Stay with the file as originally recorded. Remember, it's consistency that matters.
