Setup with Handlebar Mount for Newton?

Post by texmurphy »

It seems to me that the Newton Handlebar Mount (which I got with my trade-in) is not properly described during Newton Setup.
Yes, it is mounted on the Handlebars ... But it clamps on both sides at the stem and places the Newton over the stem.

So during setup should it be called Stem mounted based on its bike position and sandwich of the stem at the handlebar?
Or should it be Bar mounted like the Dual Purpose Mount on a handlebar where it is off center and subject to off-side flex?
Or should the programming be altered to reflect this type of mount?

Good question!

I set it up as a stem mount, since it is centered over the stem. The Isaac SW asks this question, in case the user does not do a Cal Ride.

In reality, once you do the Cal Ride, the Newton will figure things out in the FW, so your answer is "overridden" correctly by the actual calibration.
