unable to view the screen outside

when riding outdoors the screen is not bright enough. any suggestions?

I had this problem with an iphone4 in an idash CC case. Removing the silvered screen protector helped a lot, but sunlight still made it hard to see. So I mocked up a little cardboard fence around the screen which keeps the sun off it a bit more.
If it works properly on a really sunny day then I'll make something out of plastic and epoxy it in place.
