iDash Picture and file

Post by racerfern »

The iDash at 6600 ft (2012 meters) and the corresponding iDash file. Note the wind as we approached the top, twisting and turning around the bends. This is a unique ride because you get headwinds in both directions. By the time you get to the top the sun has heated the basins and the coast so the wind turns 180 degrees from offshore to onshore. The snow will start soon so the next time we tackle this will be in May. Export to Google Earth for a good view.

At the top the battery had just stopped showing the charging symbol and the battery showed 100% so I could have easily made it back down. Of course the battery wasn't the only unit slowly discharging. Note the drop in HR and power as we ascended. I've done this ride a number of times and pace myself pretty well. You just can't produce the same power at higher altitudes.
