iBike app update is coming

Post by Velocomp »

We hope that, in the next couple of weeks, you will see an app revision appearing on the iTunes Store, available for download.

There are bug fixes--of course--but some new features too:

Indoor Trainer feature is added

Odometer is added

Larger fonts are added

A new, FTP % gauge is added--you'll see your wattage output as a % of FTP. If you go above 100% of FTP on your gauge--watch out!

If you have an iBike Dash CC you'll be able to use your DFPM with it

The first steps of our new GUI are visible

When the new app is available you'll see it on your iPhone/iPod touch

Even with this update we still have a lot on our list so stay tuned...

The new iBike app has just been uploaded. We'll see how long it takes to appear on the App Store...

Some other features:

New "Lap Watts" feature. Each time you push the Lap button, you can see your average watts for the just-finished lap.

Intervals screen now shows "lap watts".

Interval timer has been fixed.

To end a ride, press-hold the Home button. This eliminates the "sweaty screen" problem experienced by some users.

We are now in the capable hands of the Apple elves. As soon as they approve the update, it will be available worldwide. Hopefully it will be a great Christmas present to all of us :D

The iTunes Developer website just reopened this morning. Our app is still "in review" but hopefully it will be available very soon. We will let you know the minute we have confirmation.

I have been looking forward to the "missing" odometer function being added in this firmware upgrade.

I installed successfully the new firmware on both my iPod and the phone booth.

I set up the odometer reading but can't seem to be able to get it to display in any screen?

Furthermore I have noticed that the odometer does not appear to be incrementing at all.

Has anyone noticed this?

Thanks

The Odometer is in the "Advanced Options/Set Odometer" section. Mine reads 115.2 miles.

We haven't yet set this as a variable that can be displayed; next release!

For next release, I have one request.
I would like to set and watch waypoints on map screen.

I can program iPhone GPS apps so if you need some programmers remind me ;)

Thank you!

Dear All,

Thanks a lot for the new app, the indoor training feature is highly appreciated.

As I like the iBike Dash very much I'm also very interested in the app evolution.
I've attached my wish list for Christmas 2011 with some description of the features.
Most of these features are very small "nice to have" things.

The gpx journey tracking is probably a heavy feature.
That's something that was missing on my Garmin Edge 705.
I think it can be a killer for the full range of iBike Dashes.

Cheers.

It looks like the metric system is not fixed in 1.0.3, the displayed numbers (elevation, climbing, temp) are still in english units.

Also, I have noticed it is not possible to tap and hold the screen, to end the ride. The only way is to close the application, and reload, go to Options/SendRideFile to look at the data before downloading.

Metric...oops! Will fix in the next update, coming soon.

Ride reset: touch-hold the home button. Or, go to Options/End Current Ride (at the top of the screen).

In the Trainer Info/Custom, A,B,... parameters seems to be "english" even if the app is configured for metrics.
It not a big issue to scale the parameters accordingly, but it's not consistent.

When you fix the metric system please rember the tempretur settings, so one can chose Celcius. Thank you.

I think it has also been mentioned earlier here (most likely by me) that when opening iDash files on iBike software on the computer that it doesn't automatically perform "Analyze Route" even if that had been set up in the preferences.

This function works for ibike files (csv) but doesn't appear to when opening ibd files.

I noticed changes (such as tilt corrections) when I perform an "Analyze Route" on iDash files.

Has anyone else noticed this? If so, it would be great if the next software update can address this.

Thanks
