change of body weight in profile.

Post by bobbyperry »

i read in the forum john from velocomp said to change weight in advanced section of edit profile. my wife and i always change it in the rider weight section in basic edit profile. we change it a fair bit with our mtb profile because we often carry 1-3kg around with us on big rides hydration packs. food , clothes etc etc. we also have our weight set as bike and gear weight is just the bike only 8.4kg. then in rider weight we jump on scales like jockey with gear in hand that we are riding with and put the weight in rider weight. i know this would be no good for fitness test where working out watts per kg. am i doing it all wrong?

The two values are rider weight and total weight which is bike plus gear plus rider weight. Total weight is used in the power algorithm so it is the most important. Rider weight is only used for W/kg and for initial CdA estimate.
If you aren't doing what John said, you are doing it wrong :)
