Mac Pro and MacBook in 64 bit mode

Post by Velocomp »

The new Mac Pro and MacBook computers boot in 64 bit mode. This causes a few problems for the iBike software

1) The new iBike 507 software, being released shortly, is required for 64 bit machines. Note: this software will work on ALL Macs.

2) If you're installing iBike software for the first time ever on your new 64 bit Mac, you will need to boot your Mac in 32 bit mode prior to installing the iBike software. Hold the "3" and "2" keys when booting your Mac. Then, install the iBike software. Then, you can reboot normally (don't need to hold the 3 and 2 keys). NOTE: IF YOU HAVE "MIGRATED" YOUR IBIKE SOFTWARE FROM AN OLDER MAC TO THE NEW 64 BIT MAC, THEN THIS STEP WON'T APPLY TO YOU.

3) There are new drivers needed for the 64 bit macMachine. These drivers are attached. Install them on your Mac (they work for ALL Macs...)

NOTE: IF YOU DON'T OWN A NEW MAC, YOU CAN STILL INSTALL THE NEW 507 SOFTWARE AND THE NEW DRIVERS, BUT YOUR MAC WILL WORK JUST FINE WITHOUT THESE UPDATES.
