iBike 4.02 is here

Post by Velocomp »

Here's our Christmas present for all of you...a new version of iBike 4.

Version 4.02 adds a new and very cool change in the Profiles/Edit Profiles/Advanced tab that is going to make it easier for all of you to tweak your profiles just the way Boyd does. Give it a try!

And there is a Mac PPC version too.

There are some other minor improvements we hope you'll enjoy; check out the Help/Release Notes to find out what they are.

If you've uploaded iBike 4.01 you'll be notified automatically of the 4.02 release; if you do not have iBike 4 installed on your computer, click on one of the links below to get iBike 4.02.

I downloaded and installed 4.0.2, opened the program, poked around, and found that the only profile in there is the Sample DFPM Fit profile. How do I get all my profiles back? (please note that behind the facade of calm is a great deal of anxiety!)

I think you need to identify the operating system you use. It is quite likely that a PC storage will not be the same as a Mac. So this is the first clue needed to identify where the profiles are stored.

Secondly, is this a version 3 to version 4 upgrade of the software - or did you have 4.0/4.01 installed?

Aloha Group:

Color me embarrassed!

I think I've got a Menehune (Hawaiian Little People for mainlanders) named Murphy somewhere in my office.

While I am prepared to swear that I downloaded the Intel Mac version I evidently got the PPC version and then failed to notice that that is what I had.

Once I got the right software things are as expected.

Wanted to let you all know.

Cheers,

Click on the link below and save it somewhere, you're desktop is fine. Make sure the iBike software is not running and after the file downloads just double click on it. Follow the prompts, all the defaults should work just fine.

I tried that and got "Cannot install - NI-VISA 4.3 (higer version already installed) Run Time Support (higher version already installed)

Do I need to delete something to get that to install?

Hmm, if you look in Add/Remove Windows components there are two programs, IVI VISA COM... and National Instruments Software that are associated with the iBike software. You can uninstall all three, IVI VISA, National Instruments and iBike software, then try installing the latest version. Also below is the link for the USB drivers.

Removing the iBike software and its supporting programs doesn't remove any of your data or profiles (of course you have a backup, right?).

It occurred to me that I have recent ride files from all 4 bikes. Coach Boyd helped fine-tune a couple of my profiles and he sent back the ride file and had me extract the new profile. So I extracted the profiles from the ride files tonight and it seemed to work. Do you think there would be any issues just starting from those?
