Existing Isaac/Mac users: how to upgrade to work with Big Sur

Post by Velocomp »

If you have installed Isaac/Mac on older versions of macOS (Catalina, Mojave or prior) and have since upgraded to Big Sur, you've found out that Isaac/Mac no longer works :-(

Fear not; it's easy to upgrade Isaac to operate on Big Sur! :-)

Below are two attachments: Big Sur upgrade instructions, and a new SiLabs driver.

The good news is that the upgrade is fast and not complicated...

NOTE: if you have NEVER installed Isaac/Mac on your computer, DO NOT USE THESE UPGRADE INSTRUCTIONS. Instead, see this link for instructions for how to do a new install of Isaac on your Mac:

NOTE: ISAAC/MAC DOES NOT WORK WITH the NEW "M1" MACS.

It worked! Now Isaac is running on my iMac again. Big Sur.
Question: Isaac seems to open only in full screen, is there a way to reduce the window size or is it always full screen?

On my Mac running Big Sur there is no problem with window resize.

It's possible you have hit the "green" button at the top left corner, which puts the app into full screen size.

Try hitting the Esc button. This should fix the problem.
