user variable coast-down speeds?

Post by R Mc »

How difficult would it be to adjust the coast-down equations to consider a range of user-variable coast-down speeds? Say, increasing the starting speed from 20 to 25 (or even 30) and allowing the ending speed to go from 8 to 6 or some such?

It seems to be the consensus that a wider speed range on the coast-downs would produce more accurate results (???) Would this be possible in the next few iterations of fw releases?

I was a beta tester for a coastdown from 25 or to 6. It did not produce better, more accurate or more consistent results.

If you're talking about mph then I'd run out of road before I get to 30mph and then coast down! It's hard enough to find a decent straight quiet stretch for a 32kph (20mph) costdown around here.
