Re: Variables For Setup iBike Aero
Make sure to perform the wind offset calibration prior to your ride, after letting your iBike adjust to outdoor temperature. Also, if you did your coast down calibrations prior to performing the wind offset that could be a problem too. If neither of these work then please send me a ride file at jham...

Re: Can't Download New Firmware - iBike Freezes
Do the following: 1) Download the 1.16 firmware from our website: http://www.ibikesports.com/downloads.html 2) Place the downloaded zip folder on your desktop. Double click to unzip. 3) Place the firmware file iBike116.enc on your desktop. Check the size of the file: it should be 256 KB. If the file...

Re: Initial pairing
Make sure your speed and cadence sensors haven't gone to sleep. Wave a magnet past them to keep them awake. If they go to sleep during the pairing process you will get the WLS FAIL message during the HR pairing though everything else is OK.

Re: Mac versus PC
Travis is a PC, I am a Mac (music in the background please). The two versions of iBike 2 are developed with the identical development system. When Travis finishes his cool stuff he pushes a few buttons and the development system spits out a PC version and a Mac version. I've used them both and they ...

Re: Crazy Power Reading
I looked at your ride file and the primary issue is the unstable reading you're getting from your cadence sensor. Remember that when cadence goes to zero (as it does far too many times in your ride file) then watts will be forced to zero too. I suspect that your cadence magnet and sensor are too far...

Re: iAero and iBike Pro profiles
Here's what you'll need to do to accomplish your objective: 1) Store your iBike Pro Profile using iBike 2. This saves your wireless IDs and your iBike Pro drag coefficients as a profile. 2) When you obtain your iAero, upload your iBike Pro profile into your iAero. Among other things, this will trans...

Re: Starting a ride from remote locations
It's fine if you set altitude at home, then go to your starting location to ride. Remember that if the weather changes while en-route to your starting point the elevation your iBike reads at your actual starting location may be different from what the actual elevation is, but that's ok, too. After y...

What do I do if I lose my wireless pairing?
1) If you lose your wireless pairing AND you have previously saved a profile that included the pairing codes, simply upload your profile to your iBike and your pairing should be restored. 2) If step one fails, then you have one of two problems: 1) your old profile doesn't have the correct codes stor...

Saving wireless pairing information
We've had a few customers complain that they have been losing their wireless pairing codes. After investigating what we've discovered is that these customers had upgraded their iBikes to wireless but the pairing codes weren't stored in their profile. So, when these customers reloaded their old profi...

We're thinking about July, in Montana. We'd have day rides, training with power lectures, iBike 2 lectures, maybe even a factory tour!

On page 38 of the Wireless Instructions there is a photo of a speed sensor and cadence sensor mounted too closely together, resulting in false readings for both, just in the way you describe. The sensors work by detecting impulses produced by the magnets that pass by them. If the magnets are too clo...

Re: Wind Offset
Important post script for this problem: bkr emailed us and reported that he determined the root-cause of the wacky wind readings: the wind scaling factor in his profile was 614! That is, his measured wind speed was being multiplied by 614; this caused his wind numbers to jump around like crazy. Norm...

Re: Wind Offset
I just spoke with bkr and together we solved his problem. He had upgraded his firmware from 114 to 116. For reasons that I don't fully understand, sometimes when the upgrade is done the internal pointers of the firmware get confused and cause this wild-wind offset problem. The fix is simple: downgra...

Re: Garmin compatibility announcement
There is a significant cost involved in developing new firmware. All of our engineers and developers live in the USA; this allows us to go fast and to be very innovative, but this kind of talent is not cheap. We based iBike G pricing on our actual development costs and a best-guess of the number of ...
