Re: Pairing unsuccessful after multiple attempts
Sorry to hear about your situation; it's frustrating when this kind of thing happens. Please do the following: 0) Fully charge your PowerPod. Its light will flash red when you connect it to a USB charger, then the light will go out after fully charged. 1) Disconnect PP from the USB cable, then press...

Re: power to high after new cal ride
Your 57 km ride file looks OK. In the ride file there are portions where there are substantial headwinds. If you do a check calibration this will lower the power numbers. You should only do Check Calibration when there is an out and back ride. The elevation profile shows that this was not an out/bac...

Re: Newbie to Power Can someone help me set up PP correctly
I highlighted a symmetric portion of the ride, centered where you turned around, used the "File/Combine-Split/Keep selection only". I then used "Analyze/Check Calibration" to get a new wind scaling factor. Your new profile has a bit lower wind factor. In fact, this factor is near...

Re: Important firmware update--Dynamic rolling resistance
Thanks John for this upgrade - very significant. I have no idea how your did it, but it works perfectly. Yesterday's ride included new asphalt, chip-seal and rough broken pavement. Power displayed on the Newton 6 screen on the rough surfaces was so much more realistic than the past. The power trace...

Re: PP ride data check
It looks like your PP might be rotating some on your mount. This will cause abnormal high or low readings, until the auto correction takes effect. Make sure your PP cannot rotate on the mount.

Re: Newbie to Power Can someone help me set up PP correctly
I used the "Analyze/Check Calibration" command to correct your wind scaling factor.
PP records one long ride, unless it is asleep for 20 minutes, after which it automatically starts a new ride. So, you'll have to split things in Isaac.

Re: Newbie to Power Can someone help me set up PP correctly
Sorry, I looked at this yesterday and failed to make a posting. You need to load a corrected profile into your unit, attached. Do another ride and then post. All should be well. By the way: as you discovered, PP records one long ride file, even when you have two files in your Garmin. Making multiple...

Re: Anyone using PowerPod on a Fat Bike with any success?
Sadly, two things happened: 1) I don't recall seeing the "ratman" response, so I did not follow-up with his final post. 2) The files in this thread are no longer available from our blog. If "ratman" is following this thread, I'd appreciate a new posting. One statement made in the...

Re: Anyone using PowerPod on a Fat Bike with any success?
I can see no reason in principle that PowerPod would not work on this style of bike. Most certainly, there might be parameters set differently for the low tire pressure and also the wheel circumference, but I think that would be about it. If there is data that shows the contrary I would sure like to...

After you install your new mount, PP will recalibrate itself automatically during the first 8 minutes of your next ride, then all should be well.

Re: Newbie to Power Can someone help me set up PP correctly
Patience is what is needed here. Your PP recalibrates itself during the first 8 minutes of each ride. Your "0km" ride files show zero power for the first 8 minutes of the ride. Your "34km" ride shows proper power after the calibration period. HOWEVER, your unit is struggling &quo...

Re: cobble stones power 0
You're riding with a mount that appears to be made of plastic. This will flex and vibrate in cobbles and cause the PowerPod to not function. If you're going to ride on cobbles then you need to get one of our PowerPod combo mounts, which is made out of machined aluminum, is extremely stiff, and has b...

Your ride file looks perfect.
For the first 8 minutes your watts were slightly low, while PP recalibrated itself.
Nothing needs tweaking

Re: Newbie to Power Can someone help me set up PP correctly
For now, I would keep the TT bars on. Do a few rides so you get used to things. Afterwards you can try removing the bars, though this may require a recalibration.

Re: Newbie to Power Can someone help me set up PP correctly
Your PP is mounted on a pretty crowded cockpit, so I think it is getting a bit less wind than usual. This is nothing to be worried about. I thought you were riding with your TT bike setup; if not, use the attached profile, which now has a CdA of 0.359 Yes, you import the profile, then click the Send...

Re: Upgrade to FW 5.13 changed button action(s)
There are two main screens that can be accessed by clicking the center button: 1) Power screen (speed/power/cadence) 2) Bike computer screen (speed/distance/time) In recent versions of the FW we changed things so that, when in the power screen, press-holding the center button takes you immediately t...

Re: Newbie to Power Can someone help me set up PP correctly
No worries: 1) I used the "File/Combine-Split File at Cursor" command to get rid of the first 5 minutes, where PP was calibrating itself. 2) I used the "Analyze/Check Calibration" command to correct your wind settings. The constant tail wind was caused by an incorrect setting. Th...

Re: Newbie to Power Can someone help me set up PP correctly
Was this a solo ride or did you do drafting? Your cadence and HR sensors did not pair. You need to spin the crank of your cadence sensor backwards about 5 times before pairing; it takes a long time to wake up. Wet your HR strap before attaching it, so that you're sure it is on. Spin your speed wheel...

Re: First powerpod ride - speed and power readings high.
You have a speed on a 1% downhill of 55 mph. This cannot be possible... I would remove the battery from your speed sensor, insert it backwards momentarily to reset the sensor, then reinstall the battery normally. Press-hold the PP button for about 10 seconds. The light will go out momentarily, then ...
