Time advant/Cda does not change in Isaac
Hi I just noted something that is not quite right. If you adjust the wind offset in the Isaac software, although the avg power changes, the cda/time advant does not change much(when paired with a powertap in my case). I even put in a 20 wind correction and while the avg watts dropped about 50, time ...

Re: Possible bug in software
Thanks I reviewed the file and it also seems that the cda goes up on downhill portions to a greater degree than up/or level. I have noted that on other rides as well--is this something that should be ignored or warrant a profile change? Tires are Hutchinson intensive tubeless (25) and the roads are ...

Re: Possible bug in software
Thanks for the new versions and bug fixes
Noted close time advantage with newton and isaac now--great
But--The numbers may not make sense--ie--the powertap avg was reading lower than the ibike by a few watts but the time advantage was negative and cda numbers high.
Data enclosed

Re: A major improvement: OS2 for Newton
I think there is still a problem in the Isaac display/reading of cda/time advantage. During coasting it reverts to the base cda in the saved profile. On the Newton screen it does show a different dynamic number as I am coasting. This will them distort the time advantage done by Isaac software. Also ...

Re: Wind Scaling difference in Newton and Isaac?
I am enclosing 2 rides, same loop, wind steady each way. The corrections needed to match with the powertap are conflicting--on one a crr change is needed and on another it seems cda is way off. I am not getting the consistancy I did with the old gen 3, which once the wind cal was set was much more c...

Re: Possible bug in software
Using the new firmware has not solved this--I am still getting a negative time advantage and higher cda on the newton screen than the isaac software shows(this is usually mildly positive) Also the coasting cda showing in isaac for the powertap is fixed at the baseline cda(the newton does show a chan...

Re: Wind cal ?
I have noticed a calibration change of about 3(whatever units) from 70 degrees(my office) to 95 degrees(outside) . With the generation 3 unit, it was about 10 or more I usually calibrate at the end of a ride and just leave it alone thereafter so it is accurate the next time Of course the first few m...

Re: Failure to correct for missing cadence?
Just slide magnet down the crank arm so the cadence sensor can't pick it up
Here is the ride file--powertap data does not show even after "repair for missing cadence" is chosen

FWIW:
Newton CSt(?friction)=17.130 but Isaac says 17.131 in edit profile
Newton CSt(aero)= .250 but Isaac says .251

Failure to calculate cda when coasting?
Hi
Notice that Isaac does not calculate the cda/time advantage during coasting. It does register on the newton itself -even though its a wrong number.
Was flying down a hill and was curious what my cda was.

Failure to correct for missing cadence?
I had part of a ride missing cadence due to the sensor moving.
When I tried to do the correct function in Isaac software, the Powertap power remained zero
Can this be added to the list.

Re: Possible bug in software
Well, after many more rides I have a consistent discrepancy between the time advantage/cda on the newton and what is shown in the PC software. It amounts to near perfect Isaac power similarity between powertap and newton(cda about .38) but I have a time loss of about 10 sec per mile showing while ri...

Re: low wattage with calibration ride & coast downs?
I wonder if something is wrong with the algorithms in either the pc software or the Newton. I have a thread on this and no one seems to be commenting on it I use a Powertap so the accuracy is secondary but it would be nice to have it working properly I have been getting excellent correlation between...

Re: Possible bug in software
Did another careful 20 miles out and back, wind cal was zero. The cda was averaging high on the newton the whole way and time advantage was negative about 10 sec per mile on the newton. When I put the file in the Issac software, avg watts were 1.5 % higher than the powertap(very very close), cda gra...

Possible bug in software
Hi Been doing some test rides and I have noticed that despite a very close newton time advantage calc (a few secs), the isaac software puts the time advantage at 60 sec for just a 7 mile ride. The average watts were within a few % as well. Enclosing the file. I did not take a cellphone shot of the h...

I hate to have to put this in a forum message but I emailed you and got no response- so here it is: In my original order I included a request for a RWS but it was not in the package sent(even though the shipping list says it was). Did about 50 miles today and was very close to my powertap on average--1-2% but part of the way had a blocked wind port from rain. Was that from the basic set-up, or did you include coast downs as part of your set-up? I transferred my old gen 3 profile and did a cal ride to just tune the wind cal f...

Re: Newton first impressions
I had a bit of trouble sliding it on and off the mount, possibly from the rubber port cover. Put a bit of chain lube on it a its a bit better. Just started using it so hard to say how the accuracy will be, but the wind cal drift with temp change does seem better- 2-3 units rather than 10 for a 70 to...

Re: Newton vs DFPM
Although I love the ibike and have owned every generation from the start it is no where near as accurate for testing/benchmarking as a powertap. I have both and use the ibike as the head unit. At best they are close but if the outside temp varies much(I know this may change with the newton) it can b...

Would the new air duct fin design be more accurate than using a RWS?

Any trade in for the RWS from the gen 3?
Thanks
